Not anywhere close to being worth 170 dollars for a twosome on a weekday. Especially after it was practically destroyed this winter by the rain and flooding and is currently in the process of being repaired. Do yourself a favor and stop in Medford to play Centennial or Eagle Point or head north to Eugene and play up there. If you're up for a little drive into the mountains Tokatee Golf Course is absolutely stunning and provides amazing views of the snowcapped Sister's volcanoes from the majority of holes. It is worth every penny, unlike Bar Run which is just your run of the mill, flat course with 0 holes to write home about. Furthermore, they have no twilight rates, Friday is considered the weekend, and most importantly they have 0 military or veterans discounts. A great way to put up a middle finger to the service men and women who risk their lives defending your right to charge ridiculous fees for an average at best golf experience. Simply put, in Bar Run's case, the juice is just not worth the squeeze. Lastly, the staff in the "clubhouse" (a tent with busted looking sliding doors) are rude and pretentious and the landscaping crews have never been taught golf etiquette. These owners must think they're sitting on the next Bandon Dunes to have the nerve to charge these astronomical and offensive rates. Oh yeah, if you just want to use the driving range be prepared to pay 12 dollars for a bucket of balls. I used to golf here multiple times a year when their fees were on par with the quality of the course but now, unfortunately, I will not give them a dime of my money and you shouldn't either until they learn to respect the hardworking people who keep their doors open. What's better? Reasonable rates that keep the customer coming back multiple times a season or charging 50 dollars over market value and pushing away repeat business? You...
Read moreBar Run is a great place to stay! We drove down from Washington, which took us about 5.5 hours. My wife and I found this RV park on Facebook last year and decided to give it a try—and we’re glad we did.
We were running late to arrive on a Wednesday afternoon, and someone from the front desk actually called to check in and make sure we were still coming. That personal touch was much appreciated.
The RV park itself is very new, clean, and well laid out. All of the spots are spacious and level, with plenty of room for RVs of any size. Some sites even have patches of turf or real grass. I picked a site that seemed perfect, but it ended up being right next to a working gravel yard. It operates during the weekdays until about 4 p.m., so it was a bit noisy during the day—but quiet after hours.
The golf course is beautiful and well-maintained—I’m pretty sure it’s a links-style course. My wife and I played 9 holes early one morning around 7:20 a.m., and it was perfect. The weather had been in the high 90s leading up to our stay, so getting out before the heat was a big win.
Bar Run also features a lazy river, a nice pool, and a snack shop where you can grab food, drinks, and even adult beverages. It’s a great spot to relax and cool off.
That said, the area is pretty quiet, with not much to do beyond the park itself. If you’re not golfing or hanging by the pool, options are limited. We did manage to find a few local wineries and visited a couple, which was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
If you’re from Oregon, it makes for a great weekend getaway. But coming from Washington, it’s a bit of a stretch for just a weekend trip. We stayed for five days, and that felt just right. Next time, we plan to stay for a couple of days and then continue our trip...
Read moreWOW!! We were invited with 2 families for a spontaneous quick weekend getaway at the Bar Run RV resort with our RVs. We were able to be side-by-side on flat concrete pads. They had beautiful bathrooms with showers if we did not want to shower in our RV. The pool was so deluxe and beautiful. The pool even has an DJ who was so sweet and friendly. She took song requests for 3 hours from all the kids. The kids had so much fun with the lazy river. I was not prepared for such a beautiful place. One of our friends, daughters even was able to get poolside food service delivered to her, french fries a Diet Coke and “put it on the tab” She loved it, but I don’t know if her parents were too awfully happy with her. LOL
On the last night, we sat around eating dinner wishing we would’ve booked two more nights and just skipped out on work. We stopped at the snack shack, just me and my husband for a quiet little getaway. The sun was shining on us, a cool breeze on our back ice cold diet Pepsi’s and we split a turkey cheddar sourdough melt sandwich. It was absolutely heavenly. That night we had an incredible BBQ on our friend’s pad. So much food, family, fun and friends! I was so surprised at how clean and beautiful it was. The other RVs that were parked near us were new and clean. The families were quiet, but you heard giggles and laughter of children. We are definitely coming back but next time, we are taking Friday and Monday off and making a much longer trip! We’re already looking at our schedules to figure it out.
Bar Run Golf & RV resort you really took some stress off my shoulders that I’ve been carrying. It was the getaway that I...
