Caldwell Nursery — Local services in Rosenberg

Definitely would not recommend if you want an enjoyable outing to the nursery. I give them a 1 star Rating is for the plants they carry (although prices are very high even at a private small nursery) definitely not for the friendly atmosphere. I hadn't been to this nursery in about 5 years. I used to go almost every week, sometimes just to walk through the beautiful gardens (lots of Bamboo now). I stopped when I was told I couldn't bring my small dog (people friendly) any longer and the owner was very brusque when speaking to other customers during the same visit. I thought I would try the nursery one more time and see if it was a friendlier place to shop. I was the only person in the nursery for 30 of the 60 minutes that I was there. I purchased 150.00 worth of bedding plants. Cay Dee The owner didn't say, hello, how are you, nothing. Didn't thank me for making the purchase, offer to help me to my truck or invite me to come back. Which I won't. Looks like all of the other reviews I have seen on this Nursery are being posted by Landscaping Companies, maybe this is the only clientele she wants to do...

Drove 2.5 hours to pick up a Grevillea that I couldn't find in nurseries near me. At first glance, Caldwell Nursery is well set up with a welcoming entrance filled with potted plants you can purchase. The sprawling nursery past the 'checkout' building is a bit of a maze as I found myself losing my way a few times. There are so many varieties; from indoor plants, succulents, perenials to bamboos... Noteworthy are the orchids and fruit trees. So why 2 stars? Caldwell Nursery must be short staff as a lot of their inventory are in varying degrees of neglect, most apparent is lack of watering. As to the Grevillea I reserved, it is infected with mold/fungus for being placed in the shade of a tree when it requires full sun. I...

This is the best plant nursery I've ever visited. No one comes close. I especially love herbs. This place has it all, even the hard to find Patchouli. The owner Cay Dee was very helpful and very honest and educational about the plants I was interested in. The prices were also extremely good. I am so in love with this place. It was exciting to see the amazing variety all in one place and also relaxing to just walk around and experience it all. The variety of flowers, trees and other plants just blew me away. I went home with a car full of goodies. The only draw-back is that they are only open till 5pm. The best time to visit is late morning...
