Where do I start.. I’m a big fan of haunted houses and go every year. My friend and I decided to give this place a try. We arrived to front looking to park was advised by security that we have to park at Deep River Park and take the school bus back over. We asked about tickets after seeing a long line he advised that if we bought the fast pass we would skip the line so we paid $150 for the 3 attractions and fast pass. We get dropped off the bus the same security guard comes on the bus gives a speech saying if you have Groupon tickets your in the shorter line if you have regular tickets your in the rope line which was longer we asked him about the fast pass skip the line that he told us to buy he then says oh we’re not doing that anymore. Annoyed right there because he’s the one that told us to buy it so that didn’t sit right with us at all so we were approached by another security guard in line asking if we had Groupon or regular tickets we told him regular tickets but with fast pass skip the line but we were told we can’t anymore he said it’s a lot of misunderstanding going on step over to this line ok cool thank him for acknowledging the passes we bought and the next person got us what was included in our package still having to wait in a another line the fast pass skip the line is definitely misleading esp if you purchase online before hand as advised so this place is very unorganized. They have a virtual que that texts and tell you when your up next for the haunted houses ok cool no problem no wait there the Billy side show was the most uncomfortable for us as we were closely followed by 2 caucasian males in all black the had shirts that said haunted hills not sure why they were following us as we did not see them following anyone else or being apart of the scare team, red flag there. The other haunted attraction was decent had a lot going on the one attraction that we enjoyed was the fear lab great friendly actors and it was different. Other than the fear lab this place was a waste of time and money. Unorganized chaos and misleading.

Thank you for your response, but I do need to correct some of the deflection here.

We did not misunderstand anything. We asked your security staff directly about the long line and were told to purchase fast pass tickets specifically to skip it. That was your employee’s instruction, not an assumption. If your staff gives incorrect information, the burden is on your business, not on customers to disregard what your own security is telling them.

The attempt to blame the confusion on guests, Groupon users, and signs on a website instead of acknowledging the misinformation we were given in person feels a lot like gaslighting. Our experience was real. Pretending the issue is our failure to follow directions is dismissive and unprofessional.

As for the two men who followed us through the attraction: if they truly were “maintenance,” they made no effort to communicate that, did not interact with any props, and did not follow any other guests. Their behavior made us uncomfortable and instead of addressing that genuinely, your reply minimizes it with “sorry they scared you.” Again, a refusal to take responsibility for how your staff interacts with guests.

We are happy Fear Lab was enjoyable, but the rest of the experience was unorganized, misleading, and handled poorly both during the event and in this response. A professional business would accept accountability instead of shifting blame onto paying customers.

We stand...

Haunted Hills has great reviews but I truly wish they would pre-face the details by stating this is a great attraction visit if you are trying to scare young children. Was not scary at all and the haunted house/attractions were very underwhelming. I have been visiting haunted houses in the Midwest area for 10+ years now and drove an hour and a half to visit Haunted Hills. I understand the wait times are to be longer during peak season, with that in mind all other haunted houses I have been to have anywhere from 10 actors or more that continue to walk through the waiting areas or lines and they cycle through. This place had a handful of some creative actors that wandered around, but we never saw any new actors come out. The food venders are great, however they don't have a bar area which also was unfortunate. We did the 3 experiences, Haunted Hills Hospital, The Sickbilly sideshow, and Fearlab for $30, plus $5 for parking and $10 for our picture. They offer virtual queues, so you could enjoy food while you wait. After waiting just about an hour we got our text for the Sickbilly Sideshow. Even though we were going slow and took our time, we still finished that in under 10 minutes. Not really scary, if anything what makes it spooky is that you are already outdoors. They could have used more props, strobe lights, smoke? Something. We went to the Haunted Hills Hospital next, and they had some decent props in there, but again the overall walkthrough was incredibly short and way over-promised. We were sent in with the group ahead of us, and the group behind us kept catching up to us. The actors inside did try to help with pacing though. Finally was Fearlab and even for $5 add-on, it was such a waste. We wore blackout goggles which seemed exciting, however the walkthrough again, very short. You are guided through the small maze by an actor, who uses props to make it seem like you are being touched by a "worm" which felt like a pool noodle, or coming out if it with literal rice grains all over. Overall, if we had any children in our group this probably would have been a great time for them. However as a group of adults, it was disappointing. Side note: They had a lot of security wandering around also. Even some of the bigger haunted houses in the area, they didn't have so much security patrolling inside. Usually they are outside or not visible unless needed.

Takeaways, great hot chocolate and their bucket of fries vendor is delicious. Staff was really nice, actors were great but very few. Wait time was longer than all 3 experiences combined. Haunted house scare level would be rated G at best. Bus drive there from the parking (at the water park) was a cute experience as they play spooky music and the lights flicker on the way to the haunted house.

For anyone that reads reviews before coming, if you are looking for an actual SCARE, try the Abandoned House Complex, Dungeon of Doom, Hellsgate, Realm of Terror (short...

We genuinely had a phenomenal night at Haunted Hills. It felt like a party from start to finish! There were people dancing, good music, flashing lights, crowd work, and flames shooting off into the night sky! We got to enjoy all of this and roam around while in Haunted Hills’ virtual queue. The virtual queue allows you to visit all the mini-games, shops, and food vendors and prompts you with a text when it is your turn to enter specific attractions.

The 3 attractions are the Hospital, Fear Lab, and SickBilly Sideshow. Our favorite was definitely the Hospital. The attention to detail and set design was magical in this haunt! I particularly loved the misdirection in this show which set you up for scores of actor scares! EVERY scare actor did a remarkable job staying in character and breathing life into all 3 attractions! Fear Lab is a sensory experience that has tons of potential. The owner has future plans to make this attraction even more skin crawling. The Sideshow transports you to an old, creepy traveling circus. If you hate clowns, most definitely go through this haunt. I know that there are big, future ideas for this attraction too. I can’t wait!

Certainly go visit Haunted Hills if you are going to be in the Northern Indiana area! This venue has so much to offer and will continue to expand and get better in the future. Absolutely check them out!

Also, I do not want to forget the shuttle drivers, security, and all the unseen staff for contributing to a great night out. Cheers to you. Lastly, I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Justin for being such a gracious host. We appreciate you showing us behind the scenes and allowing us into your world. You are a man that is dedicated to his craft, and it shows in...
