We wanted a second dog, and knew we wanted a golden retriever. As with anything in the beginning, you turn to Google and sort through the recommendations, and start exploring and reading reviews. Just Behaving was one of the top ones recommended. I connected with Dan shortly after texting with him. He happened to have a puppy from a current litter. I was a bit surprised at this because it seems that most places seem to make you wait for planned litters. Dan operates on a model where if he has a litter, and you are ready to adopt, then hopefully it's a match. For us, we were ready and didn't need to wait. Meeting Dan at his place in Rowley was an awesome experience. It's amazing to see how Dan interacts with his dogs, and puppies. The goldens we saw were very calm and tame. Had wonderful demeanors, and were really well trained. Dan works with his dogs by simply correcting behaviors he doesn't want with a calm finger snap. To me, this was great, and is setting us up for a great training experience now. With everything we saw, and learned about Dan's practices with breeding goldens, we took home his pup. We named him Archie, and he is such a love. I took him to our vet yesterday, and they sang Archie's praises. So much so that the vet had everyone come into check out what a perfect puppy Archie was. Our journey to find the perfect breeder led us to Dan, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our decision to adopt our adorable 10-week-old retriever, Basile, from him. Dan's professionalism, kindness, and responsiveness were evident from our very first interaction.

We were fortunate to receive a call back from @justbehaving that there were two red coat golden retrievers available for us to meet on a warm Sunday in November, 8-9 weeks old, ready for a good home! The whole experience was amazing. We arrived and entered what I would call a chicken cage, 8x4’, floor covered in straw. Two Goldens were placed inside with us, we sat on the ground, and met two love-bugs, no more than 14 lbs, with their baby fur all pristine and soft. How does one pick between two such adorable puppies; we almost asked if we could take both. But in the end, we picked the gorgeous female (she really picked us), and without thinking I said, “ Hello Molly, nice to meet you.” My two kids who joined the visit were amazed how fast the connection was made. Pure happiness can’t do justice for the exhilaration we felt as drove away with our new treasure, documents and medical records in hand, instructions as needed to care for our new Molly girl. Dan responded almost immediately before, during and even after we got home as a few questions arose. The whole experience was awesome, and we couldn’t recommend Just Behaving enough.
