This particular refinery has been hiring anti-union companies (Universal Plant Services, as an example) for a while now, who are full of workers who are actually illiterate in the English language. The workers they bring in, conveniently don't care about asbestos or lead (of which there is plenty here) and the foremen will throw a fit if you raise a safety concern regarding those substances. They'll also throw a fit if you want a harness at heights where they are mandated by OSHA. It's not just "UPS", it's the entire refinery. But hey, don't come in unshaven, even though it's a myth that you can't get a good seal with facial hair. Security will flex their mall-cop muscles on you for that.
