Service Plus — Local services in Roxbury Township

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but this experience has left me rather upset about this company. I called Service Plus to come and look at an older model oven door that wasn't closing properly. The technician came out and spent about 10 minutes looking at & under the door. Told me that the hinges were broken and I'd probably need a new door. He advised me not to mess with it because then it'd be impossible to get back together. Ok, fine, if that's what a professional says then it must be pretty bad. Paid him his service fee, somewhere around $185 dollars, and the man was on his way.

After getting the quote, which was fairly expensive of course ($650) and included 4 hours of labor, my business partner and I decided to have a look and see if we could mess with it enough to get it back to working order. Small business, you know, trying to save a few hundred dollars. We figured we couldn't mess it up any more than it already was since we'd have to be buying a new door.

Here's what we found out:

-The door was easy to remove and to put back. -Hinges were not broken at all. -A single hinge pin had fallen out of place, which was also not broken. -Two bolts and the problem was fixed in less than an hour. -Total cost: $1.25

Neither one of us had any experience in fixing appliances. Seemed like a pretty straightforward problem. So tell me why a technician WITH experience couldn't discover what was wrong with my oven door? I can guess it's because he felt like ripping us off. Paid by commission, I suppose? WARNING-DO NOT CALL THIS PLACE FOR SERVICE-I WOULD GIVE A 0 STARS IF AN OPTION. I WAS CHARGED $251 FOR THEM TO TELL ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY 5 MONTH SMALL UNDER THE COUNTER FREEZER THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. YES HE SPENT ABOUT AN HOUR THERE WAITING FOR TEMPERATURE MOVEMENT & WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY FOR THAT, EVEN THOUGH THAT SEEMS VERY HIGH. I WAS EVEN TOLD BE WOMEN THERE IT SHOULD BE NO CHARGE SINCE YOUR UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD A BAD FEELING WHEN THE GIRL THERE ASKED FOR MY CC CARD & PIC OF LICENSE PRIOR TO REPAIRMAN COMIMG OUT. SO $114 per hour plus $65 TRIP CHARGE (LOL) plus over 1 hour charge and tax. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE SCAM AND WILL BE CALLING THE BETTER...
