I'm updating my rating to two stars. There are a few things that I don't like about this place. First, it's very easy to get into, but when you're done and want to exit heading south, it can be very inconvenient. Both sides have signs posted "One Way", so if you want to head south and do it the right way, you have to take a right, head up north to turn around and head back down south, or you can just go straight across, turn left and head south, like most people wrongly do. It's definitely a tourist trap. Haha. Secondly, when you use the men's restroom, there are provocative signs on the wall such as: We aim to please, do you? There's also a sign down by the toilet about how shoplifting is a crime, and we will prosecute to the FULL extent of the law. I realize shoplifting is wrong and a serious crime. I'm not a criminal, but the signs make me feel uncomfortable. I also don't like the fact that whenever you buy ANYTHING big or small, it has to be stapled in a bag. They have video surveillance and isn't that enough? No. Typical judgemental Christians. Sigh. It may be fun to look around, but it's also an untrustworthy feeling inside. Other than these gripes, this place has something for everyone. It may be pricey for some items, but there's so much variety to choose from! The owner, "Bob", is a very pleasant person to talk with, but Treasure City...
Read moreI simply love this place. Years of memories of passing the flags, lawn ornaments, knic-knacs and of course the giant clam shell out front you can see from the highway flying by when I was a child turned to a huge curiosity to get in there and see whats it all about. I stop there every time I am out that direction now. Yes it's packed wall to wall with stuff, but there is a hidden gem for everyone if you look close enough. Personally I check out their revolving knife collection while my wife checks out their funny t-shirts. My boys love the hand carved sling shots or plastic swords at this point in their lives while my youngest girl loves the "gems" from the giant treasure chest. There is so much more there it would be hard to start describing so I say just go and experience it at least once yourself.
I, though would be remiss not to mention the fireworks shop on the property (shack next to the building for safety). The proprietor takes care of his customers. Have a chat with him and ask for the latest and greatest fountain. My personal favorites are the Fish Affect and the Koi Pond....
Read moreI went there for a good time accompanied by my brother and his friend (Both over the age of 18) knowing full well the overall quality of their merchandise was low and that was the main reason of our going there. We were there for a good 20-30 minutes when one of the older staff members approached us and said customers under the age of 18 need to accompanied by an adult. We briefly explained that two of our members are over 18 and in response she switched the story to we need to be alongside a parent. When we explained to her that the sign says you need someone over 18 and nothing about a parent, she backhandedly insinuated that we were attempting to shoplift. Her behavior was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. She dissed her own merchandise and said we were disappearing into the corners. I do not recommend shopping here as someone...
