Lazy Pines was the perfect home away from home for my husband and I and our fur baby Scrappy. The location was exactly what we were hoping for. Minutes from midtown shops and restaurants yet very private and secluded. Surrounded by towering pines and juniper trees, the completely fenced yard and two story deck were perfect for our dog to roam freely and completely safe and secure. The deck was my favorite spot to enjoy a cup of coffee nexta to the firepit. The elk, wild horses, and deer that roam just outside the fence was an absolute treat.

The accommodations are a perfect blend of rustic and modern and so comfortable. They had everything you would need for your doggies, like bowls, leashes, and dog blankets. Honestly everything was just right. So much so that we have stayed there multiple times and it's always the first place we look for out Ruidoso getaways.

The owners Angela and Tracey are wonderful hosts. In fact during one stay those NM winds kicked up during a major snow storm. Most of the town lost power, as did the cabin. They sent a care package and kept in contact with us the entire time to make sure we were safe until the power came back on. Plenty of blankets kept us comfortable and cozy. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lazy Pines! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how cozy and welcoming the house felt! It was like stepping into a home away from home. The thoughtful details throughout the space, from the warm lighting to the comfortable furnishings, made it easy to settle in and relax. Our two pups, Miller and Remi, were in heaven! The property is incredibly dog-friendly, and we truly appreciated all the special touches designed for dogs—it's clear that pets are just as welcome here as people. The surrounding nature and scenery were breathtaking. We enjoyed exploring the serene woods and taking in the mountain views. Angela, our host, was fantastic throughout our stay, providing us with excellent recommendations for local restaurants, hiking trails, and even a few hidden gems we wouldn’t have found on our own. Her attention to detail and willingness to help really made our trip special. We’re already looking forward to coming back to Lazy Pines. The location itself is a breath of fresh air… literally! Surround by the picturesque beauty of the New Mexico mountains and pine trees, it is the perfect place for a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

There is beauty and adventure all around. Plenty to do for the family. We really enjoyed having our morning coffee from the private patio and also watching the kids play, while watching the sunset with a glass of wine from the rocking chairs.
