As you enter Lincoln National Forest, you're greeted by towering pine and fir trees that stand like sentinels, their leaves whispering with the secrets of the forest. The air is fresh, scented with pine and the earthy fragrance of the forest floor. Sunlight dapples through the canopy, creating a play of light and shadow that dances across the ground.

In some areas, rugged mountains rise majestically, their peaks reaching towards the sky, while in others, serene meadows stretch out, carpeted with wildflowers that sway gently in the breeze. The diversity of the landscape is astoundingโ€”from dense woodlands to open grasslands, from rocky peaks to tranquil streams.

Wildlife abounds in this natural haven. Deer can be seen grazing in the meadows, while birds of prey circle overhead. The forest is alive with the sounds of natureโ€”the chirping of birds, the rustling of leaves, and the gentle flow of water.

There are also numerous trails winding through the forest, each offering its own unique perspective and beauty. Hikers are treated to stunning vistas, and the changing seasons add their own magic, transforming the landscape with vibrant autumnal colors or a serene blanket of winter snow.

Lincoln National Forest is more than just a place of natural beauty; it's a sanctuary where the tranquility and grandeur of nature can be truly appreciated and enjoyed. It's a reminder of the timeless beauty of the...

My wife and I never tire of traveling through the Lincoln National Forest, Cloudcroft NM, Sunspot NM so-called because it has the highest naturally occuring hydrogen concentration in the World, and it is home to two observatories that study the Sun; Sunspot Observatory, & Apache Point Observatory/both of which offer yours to the general public. When the constant barrage of the "Modern" World & the Media, as well as an pandemic viruse named after a second-rate beer begin to ruffle our feathers, my spouse and I will head up Hwy82, to the Lincoln National Forest; or, across Rt244 to Ruidoso NM/home of a world class ski resort (Ski Apache), lakes, and the tWiStY

In addition, the average ambient temperatures dwell well below those encountered in the Basin (Otero County Basin), where the town's of Alamogordo, La Luz, and Tularosa, home of the infamous "Billy The Kid" (William Bonney). This area cannot only visited...it can be felt - always a welcoming get away in a chaotic World. Children and pets will be thrilled at the number of trails and campsites scattered throughout the Forest. HAVE FUN!!
