The guy that calls drivers and tells them which dock to go to has an attitude and seems to enjoy being rude to people. But that's kinda ok, driving a truck I see all kinds of nasty people, they all have something that ruins their life so they try to ruin everyone else's day.

My problem is the way they secure the boxes of 'taters on the pallets. They circle ONLY the top layer of boxes JUST ONE TIME with transparent tape.

Take a look at the pictures, the boxes are already falling off the pallets and I haven't even cranked the truck on, never mind get on the highway.

How is one supposed to drive 2000 miles with product looking like that? The boxes are going to fall on the floor, they will break, there will be potatoes everywhere and good luck making the people at destination accept them 'taters.

I asked them to put more tape on them boxes and was told "we always ship potatoes like that". They refused and were acting as if I'm insane for asking that much.

Sitting at the truckstop, pondering on this situation, why are they doing it. I mean, the tape doesn't cost much and it doesn't take a long time to wrap the damn boxes. Here are a few possibilities:

a. The potatoes are low quality so they ship'em like that being fully aware that they will scatter all over the trailer, nobody will accept them and the broker will file a claim on your cargo insurance. The taters will go in the trash, Mart will get their money, you lose. b. The Mart management is low quality. The employees are left to themselves, and the fan is fully submerged in you know what. c. The place is under new management, and after a SWOT analysis they decided that there is money to be saved on tape. In business school they were taught plenty on money saving techniques and none on basic physics of gravity and inertia. d. The employees hate their job, the management hates their job and they've already figured it out that there are more trucks than loads so they just don't give a rats behind

Speaking of rats, the warehouse is pretty messy...

This is 1 of the easiest places I've gone for potatoes. They loaded me within an HR. They don't do apts. It's 1st come 1st serve. Yes u have to move the empty pallets 3 feet so the loader can get u outta there faster but come on guys. U gotta move every once in awhile n that was such lil work I can't believe someone would complain. It makes him load faster.... and btw there scale is spot on. There weight matched my cat scale to the exact pound. Id still scale it at loves but it's perfect and they left me a lil room to play with. I usually can find something to complain about but I'm having a hard time. Well the yard is muddy. Big deal.. park where there is no mud... All the complaints I saw I thought it was gonna be a nightmare but was gravy. The directions look a lil funky but just follow your GPS n will find it very easy. BTW I won 1st place in bumper truck 2018! I'm aiming much lower this...

I arrived at 1:00 p.m. for loading, weighed myself on the scales they have on their premises, and received a ticket for registration. After that, they told me to wait for a call, and when they called, they told me to go to door number 10. I got up, and they loaded for a very long time until the end of the working day! After loading, they gave me the documents and a seal. I immediately went to the scales and found that I was overweight, quickly returned, but those who were loading had already gone home! They called him and asked him to come and resolve the issue with the cargo, but he refused and said he would come in the morning! A man of about 70 with a prosthetic left arm, a metal prosthesis! A very unpleasant person, he speaks unfriendly and pretends not to understand what I am saying to him in English! Because of the way they work here, I lost a lot of time! I do not recommend this place, it is the...

25 and left on 25 then right on 100 is fine. Come in on the scale. Press green button and take slip it prints. Go off scale. Call number on slip, give them last 3 digits of scale ticket #, your po # and other stuff. Continue to back via left side of building. Park anywhere out of people's way. They'll call you back when you get a door. Open doors and dock. Bring your work gloves and go inside to checkin window on right. You'll see a stack of pallets by your door. Drop one on the floor, guy with forklift puts boxes of potatoes on and loads up, he exits, you put new pallet on floor and rinse-repeat. After he's done loading. Sign their sticker thing by the door. Go to checkin window for bills and seal. Then go back onto scale. Don't push green button, scan your ticket. Get new ticket. Seal it up yourself if gross weight is fine and you're good to go. Loves with catscale about 6 miles away.
