There are no strangers in this store; the shopkeepers Diana & Tom are like neighbors and never seemingly in a selling mode. Their high quality 100% American made merchandise sells itself. Would imported stuff cost less? Perhaps. Would it be as nice? Likely not. As always, there's good and there's cheap but there's no such thing as good AND cheap. Tom & Diana purvey quality and value. I bought their 5' tall steel yard moose; he's not going to rust away until long after I do. For twenty years they've developed relationships with and supported area artisans and you can enjoy the fruits of those relationships. Have been looking at lots of antique shops in Geauga and Lake Counties. Some antique shops are absolutely tatty. However, Chagrin Valley Antiques is beautiful. But VERY expensive. I understand that some of the antiques are expensive, but pricing tables for $1500 (when you can find similar items in other very nice antique shops for $1000 LESS), is pricing yourself out of the market and not catering to the average person. Why list your antiques so expensively? They are not priced to be sold quickly. They are not priced to be sold at all, really. It really is a head scratcher. Came here on a whim and I’m so glad I did! I was greeted from the moment I arrived and Diana is literally the sweetest lady ever! I ended up leaving with a huge caramel flan candle and I’m sure I’ll be back again for another.
