I remember when Dollar General was called "the dollar store" by many people because most items cost around a dollar. Nowadays however the nickname is less accurate. Often, items can be found at comparable and many times even lower prices at Walmart. There are a few items at DG that still have the lowest price around, but just not nearly as many as once upon a time.. One thing I do appreciate about Dollar General is that the employees are friendly (at least in my personal experience). I also like that I can usually stop in and pick up an item that I need fairly quickly because the stores are not huge so they can be navigated efficiently. I personally am happy that DG is around. Store was a bit in disarray which is something that seems common in the older style stores. The newer stores with lower lighting are much nicer. They should invest in this one and convert it being that it is the only real store in this area.
