Ruston Sports Complex — Local services in Ruston

Have several grandchildren playing baseball /softball at your facility and not ONE TIME have ever been and score boards been operating, even attempted to get into press box and operate myself for sake of fans, doesn’t make sense to have such a nice facility and not have them operating.Im sure money collected from teams,gate and concession you can afford to have someone operating them or at the least like at other facilities team fans operate them.This along with concession is constantly out of almost everything early on into the day and very under staffed.This is very inconvenient for those that have games back to back or short time between games that doesn’t allow time to walk to car get into town get something to eat and return in time for next game, we would pack a lunch but there is no outside food allowed. Your facility is top of the line , no facility is perfect !! We live in the area and have been very impressed with what Ruston has to offer compared to other places we have been.Im posting this based on what we have experienced and heard from others, maybe if you don’t know it’s broke you can’t fix it , now you now...

It looks like it will be a nice facility once it is completed. Whomever the idiot in charge of project is should be fired. They had over a year to get a few fields ready for the Dixie World Series. Now it’s time to play and you cannot even enjoy watching your child play because too little is complete. The parents are packed in like sardines. They have all grass roped off so you can only stand behind the plate. If here were four times the bleachers, there would not be enough seating. Appears they are more concerned about their grass than the families having a good experience. Don’t waste your time and money. When they get the facility ready they should host, not before. This is screwing the first unfortunate families out of money, time and an enjoyable experience. They should be ashamed of themselves. Had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. We have played travel ball for 10 years and have never played at a complex that lets their umpires act the way these two did. It started when the game first started they were all buddy buddy with the other team like they had been friends for years. Then they said that since our teams chanting was bothering the pitcher they had to stop, they were not being unsportsmanlike. 3rd our coach asked for an explanation of a call and the umpire didn’t like that and kicked him out of the game.
