This is not only a fantastic design for a rest stop but a really good piece of architecture as well. Someone went way beyond the norm to create a wonderful park along with a state of the art facility that anyone would be so comfortable to use. The truck parking is laid out interesting, the landscape is intriguing & shady, the handicap ramps are interestingly designed as part of the solution & don't look like an after thought. Everything speaks of well thought out, progressive, good design. I'd like to know who the architects are. Congratulations to Louisiana & whatever agency was behind this & for following through to produce a class A project. I hope they use this design as a model moving forward throughout Louisiana. The old "plantation them" rest stops are tired & of the past. Louisiana needs this fresh, modern...
Read moreIt was a quick stop, and thank God for honest people! My daughter left her phone in one of the stalls. She didn’t realize it until we were about a mile down the road. So we turned back, praying all the way that it was still there. We noticed the Sheriff was parked in the lot. She ran in to look, came out shaking her head. We called her phone. Thank goodness there are still Honest people out there!” Sheriff: “Yes there are!” We met in the middle We thanked him profusely. Soooo THANK YOU to the Good Samaritan who turned in a phone to the...
Read moreThis was a great place to stop and rest for awhile. We travel a lot and this is one of my favorite rest stops that we’ve been to. The bathrooms are VERY clean. There is also a few private family bathrooms that I appreciated very much for me and my littler ones. The stalls are clean and private, the floors and walls look like they are cleaned daily, no bad bathroom smells, the trash receptacles on the premises are empty. We stopped for lunch here and to stretch our legs. We had plenty of choices for shaded pavilions to eat under and I really enjoyed the pathways that made walking and getting some steps in not only convenient but also enjoyable. Great rest...
