We were totally disappointed not only with the food but our service. After a tiny spider crawled from underneath my plate our daughter had tiny lettuce fleas/gnats crawl and fly out from her salad. The salad was from a bag and not made fresh which probably explains why but totally unacceptable. We informed our server who took our salads and never returned with a fresh made one. Our waitress never returned to our table again until the end of our meal. I ordered a Corona before our meal and was never asked if I needed or wanted anything more to drink throughout our meal. The rest of the tables sweet teas were never refilled even though they sat empty after we finished our appetizers. When it was time for us to leave and we needed to box our steaks and requested to go boxes and the bill we sat waiting for over 25 minutes it wasn’t until she return to clear plates that she remembered that we were still waiting for our to-go boxes and the bill. Needless to say one of our guests never ate a salad because of what came out of mine and my daughters salad , my husband sent his back because it was pretty obvious they came from the same bag. When we got our bill nothing was taken off our bill for the bugs or uneaten salads. This was so disappointing. It was clear it didn’t matter what crawled out from under or inside our plates. While we waited for bill I went to use the facilities before our trip back home. The condition of the bathrooms was pure disgusting. There was literally a plunger tucked in a corner with the bottom wrapped in a Walmart plastic bag. The caulking around the base of the bathroom was covered in black mold or grime. And the sink looked old, cracked without the ability to use any hot water. The outside was no better with broken parts of the wall and brink looking very unkept and dated. It was gross and made a already bad experience even worse. We will never return and drop another 175.00 for such a disappointing experience/meal again. I will be posting the pictures of the bathroom. The restaurant is clearly riding the coattails of its past because it was never like this when I was younger. It was the place to go to eat with great food, great service with a great view. Read moreThe service we received from Haley was horrible. She took our order at a reasonable time and brought us our drinks, then disappeared for an hour!
Some 20 minutes after we have been sitting with empty glasses she came by and said the kitchen is backed up by a large group that put their order in before us. I am not sure why that prevented her from refilling our drinks though!
They finally brought out our prime rib and I asked about the side salad that came with it. Haley said she knew she forgot something, so she went to put in our side salad orders.
We waited 20 more minutes to get the side salad, which was nothing to write home about. It was just a hand-full of lettuce, I don’t know why it took 20 extra minutes to get it.
When we received the check, it showed beans and toast should have come with our meal. I let Haley know that we never received the beans and toast. She brushed me off saying that is how it gets rung up. I had to reiterate that we did not receive these items with our meal. So she boxed them up for me to take home as we were already finished.
In summary, this was the worst experience I have had in a long time, Haley not refill our drinks for an hour Side salads were forgotten before entree, we had to remind them that our meals came with a salad Side salads took 20 extra minutes despite being a handful of lettuce Beans and toast were also forgotten...
Read moreThis is a bitter-sweet review. Salad was fresh and crispy. The fried zucchini was okay. My wife had the lobster tail, and the meal was delicious. As for me, my meal was terrible. I had the prime rib and grilled shrimp, everything was cold, the prime rib had zero flavor; it wasn't tough, but it wasn't tender, either. The shrimp was cold and stuck to the skewer as if it had been skewered the day before. It was a birthday dinner, and we were given two generous slices of cheesecake. The servers worked well as a team. Our personal server, Becca, was phenomenal. To be fair, prime rib is only served twice a week. There is a full bar, but it closes early when the restaurant does. The Branding Iron has been around for decades, and though it had been over 20 years since I had eaten there, I remember the steaks as being very good. We plan on dining with them whenever we come to Safford from Cochise County. I had a very difficult time finding my way out of the parking area. It desperately needs some lighting.
