Kingdom Animal Shelter just for cats — Local services in Saint Johnsbury

In my search for a kitten, I came upon Kingdom Animal Shelter. Wow! I was so impressed with their facility - clean, no smell, loving volunteers and cats that are living their better life till they find a permanent home. I was specifically looking for a kitten to raise. The application process was very thorough, which can be a bit tedious, especially if you know you’d provide a wonderful home. However, the volunteers who put their heart and soul into the care of these rescued cats don’t know that. I spent nearly an hour with a few kitties and ended up taking a kitten and her mom. After loosing 2 cats at 20 and 23 I was ready for the joy again of owning cats. I have a 5 year old Golden Retriever who the cats have learned that she if of no threat and they also trust her. My 2 new family members have been home for almost 3 weeks and it seems like they’ve always been part of our family. Kingdom Animal Shelter is a loving, caring and safe environment for rescued cats. The volunteers work long hours and dedicating their love for these neglected and abused cats and kittens. Kingdom Animal Shelter was excellent to work with. The volunteers were super friendly and caring towards us and the animals they take in. They truly make sure that the cats looking for adoption find their “purrfect” match. Their communication throughout the process was timely and they made sure to answer any questions we had. Although we were hesitant about doing the interview over zoom (because of the pandemic), it actually worked out great. Nancy and the team made the process go smoothly. After the adoption was complete they were still available to answer questions. Nancy checked in once in a while to make sure Cali (now Ali) was transitioning well to her new home. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I gave my personal information and excellent references. I passed the references and "during the review of my application ", something happened and my application was declined. I wasn't given any reason, they insisted that they didn't have to. I have raised 3 Siberian Huskies from puppies to 12 and 13 years old, and had several cats that went over age 10. There is absolutely no reason for the decision. Unless you know them, DON'T...
