I didn't want to forget to add that the people are so nice, it makes you WANT to stick around! Fresh, local, & affordable, are all adjectives that instantly come to mind. I stocked up here for the apples, but was surprised at the huge volume of different types of pumpkins and gourds and fall flowers they had. The quickest and most interesting route is via ferry boat so make sure and set your GPS to allow ferries. From Missouri, the Golden Eagle ferry has a small charge to cross the Mississippi and from Illinois, the ferry just north of Grafton is free. The drive after the ferry crossing is beautiful.
