Let me start off by saying the store manager Jeff was very nice. Thatās the only positive I can say. I ordered a couch. I called to ask the status and was told by an older person (not gentleman) that he would have to call me back. Well it was moving day for us and I hadnāt heard so I went to the store. I walked in and spoke to the older man and he didnāt know when the couch would be in. He said had no idea. I was confused with his attitude. He pushed me off on Ron. Well let me tell you how unprofessional Ron was. I said why donāt you know when the couch will get to the store. He said I donāt know things happen and I have no idea when. I was starting to get upset and he said ādo you want to hit me over the head with somethingā then went to pick up a board or something like that. He also said Iām just going to refund your money. I didnāt want a refund I wanted the couch. I left the St. Peterās store in tears. I didnāt know what to do so I called the Maryland heights store and explained what was going on. Rob who works at the Maryland heights store was very understanding and told me he would keep an eye on the movement of my couch and would call me by the end of the day. While I was on the phone I was still in the parking lot of the St. Peterās store the older man came out and motioned me in. He said couch will not be delivered to the store until the following Tuesday. I said fine I want it delivered free to my house. They did that part. The couch sat on a truck in Illinois waiting to be picked up. It sat there all weekend until a driver could be found to bring it to the store on Tuesday. We can speak on here for now on Mae for transparency. You told me that montage sent my furniture replacement info to Ashley furniture. I called montage and they said no that ashley is the manufacturer that you are the retailer. They sent it through the PORTAL they use to communicate with the retailer. You told me montage was passing the buck on to someone else. Iām tired of the lies Mae. I donāt care about a $157.00 credit towards store purchase. I donāt want anything else from Midwest furniture. I want my furniture piece replaced because I purchased an extended warranty. Iāve had to deal with you, montage, sub Contractor and now Ashley furniture. Whatās the deal? When I entered the store, there was a sales person (sorry, don't know his name as he never introduced himself) who was sitting/lying on a recliner sofa with his legs stretched and even though he saw me he completely ignored me! He did not even have the courtesy to wish the customer or check if I was looking for something specific.. I approached him and told him that I was interested to buy a recliner and asked him where I can find them? He pointed me in a direction still lying on the recliner and told me to come back after I decide on something.
I looked for couple of recliners and could not find the price tag on any of them and went to the same sales person to check if he can help to let me know the price. He was very arrogant and rude in his reply and told me he will let me know the price only If I have decided on something. How can anybody decide without knowing the price?
I also asked him if there are any deals or discounts going on and he gave an analogy of grocery store and sarcastically asked me If I buy Ham in grocery store, will I go ask for deals or discounts?!
I hope this review reaches the owner of the store and I can let him know/describe who that sales person was as just because of him, the entire store will get a bad name! Or who knows he himself could be the owner of the store!
I would not recommend this store to anybody just because of the unprofessional behavior of the sales person! They might have some great furniture but to sell that you need to have good customer service!
