The Mountain Top is not merely a tourist destination—it is an iconic experience that encapsulates the very spirit and splendor of St. Thomas. Perched high above the island, this legendary viewpoint offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in the Caribbean. From its expansive observation deck, guests are treated to an awe-inspiring, postcard-perfect view of Magens Bay, the surrounding Virgin Islands, and the vibrant turquoise waters stretching beyond the horizon. It’s no surprise this location has become a staple stop for cruise passengers, photographers, and anyone in search of the island’s soul-stirring beauty.
The venue itself strikes an impressive balance between casual charm and organized elegance. The structure houses a spacious and well-curated gift shop—arguably one of the best on the island—stocked with a vast assortment of local crafts, Caribbean apparel, island keepsakes, and tropical delicacies. The staff here are exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable, always ready with a warm smile and helpful recommendations that never feel pushy.
No review of The Mountain Top would be complete without mentioning its world-famous Banana Daiquiri. Served frosty and potent, this signature cocktail is the stuff of island legend, originally crafted here in the 1950s. Sipping one while gazing across the Virgin Islands archipelago is an unmatched indulgence and a rite of passage for every visitor.

Read moreMy experience at Mountain Top in St. Thomas was absolutely breathtaking. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by stunning panoramic views of the island and the Caribbean Sea. The drive up to the top was a bit steep and winding, but it was well worth it.
Once I reached the summit, I was amazed by the beauty that surrounded me. The observation deck provided a 360-degree view of the island, allowing me to see the lush green mountains, crystal-clear waters, and neighboring islands in the distance. It was truly a sight to behold.
One of the highlights of my visit was the famous Banana Daiquiri at the Mountain Top Bar. This frozen cocktail is a specialty of the island and is made with fresh bananas and rum. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to cool down on a hot day.
I also had the opportunity to browse through the gift shop, which offered a wide range of souvenirs, local crafts, and jewelry. I ended up purchasing a beautiful handmade necklace as a memento of my visit.

Read moreMountain Top is one those places you just keep on coming back to visit over and over again. It's one of the largest souvenir shops on St Thomas or even the USVI. THERE'S TONS OF GOODIES. From clothes to jewelry to pretty good Knick-knacks to souvenirs for both males and females, young and old. The view deck is looking over the north side of the island. You can see Megan's Bay and beyond towards the Atlanta Ocean, the British Virgin Islands and a little bit of St John. While you're there make sure to suck up their famous banana daiquiri with the Virgin Island's dark rum floated on top or a Virgin daiquiri with cherries on top especially on a hot sunny day. Now, I just hoped one day in the future they'll consider to build a restaurant up there with lots of glass all around so everyone can continuing taking in those breath taking views. It's a must to visit when you are on St Thomas. Even the drive up to the place and down from it alongside the mountains was also breath taking. The place is kids friendly, with a plus that they would like, and ice cream shop. It'll cost you $12 per person to get there and $12 to get...
