DG Market — Local services in Salem

EDIT: Since Matt left things are just not the same! He was a great store manager, and a really nice guy! There were times, of course, as comments here make clear, when the shelves weren't perfectly stocked, but nobody's perfect. But now... the last few times I went in there was stuff in almost every row making it hard to get around. Acknowledging that there is a new manager, we have to give them a LITTLE TIME to get it together, BUT it's only a matter of time before people get over it! The new manager only has so much time before people are over it and will start going elsewhere. Thanks. Nice folks who are ready, willing, and able to help. B U T... this store is one that needs to be kept better stocked. There have just been far too many times that we have come here searching for particular items only to discover that they are sold out. There have been numerous times when they've been out of milk, something that they should ALWAYS keep in stock. Also, sometimes they will have flavors of things, but then for weeks on end, not. But I'd have to say that, all in all, this store is an improvement on the lack of stores existing before it came to town. Now, if they could get on top of stocking, this would easily be a 5 star store. Edit... But, sad to say, now that Matt is gone things just aren't the same! Matt knew exactly what was on every shelf in every isle and almost every price of it all. AND he seemed like a really nice guy. He said he had to leave so that he could spend more time with his family. He will be missed. We're just hoping that whoever takes his place will do at least somewhat near as good a job. After all the stores that used to line US 60 through Salem folded, the Dollar General Store was desperately needed and much appreciated. We're glad it's there, and just hope it keeps...

So so sorry about the 1st post I thought it was a different DG ...BUT this Dollar General has the best staff the most awesome manager .. From my own personal experiences the staff is so so nice, friendly, and willing to do whatever it takes to help u get what u need to buy from there store. They are ALL AMAZING... No joking this is the best Dollar General around I would spend my money there any day over any other dollar general. Matt, ms. Faye, and Beth are absolutely the most kindness hearted people I have met on a long time. Has cost my family $ the last few weeks by not using my on line app so be careful when you do try to use them .not to mention the new crew and manager is rude do not know how to do their jobs and they are training people ? This place besides a few good workers there is not up to DG standard and needs a overhaul it's a shame this was a great DG to visit from most the dollar stores I have done reviews on now it's hit the pits at...
