I would not recommend moving here if you're not well off or probably even at an average rate because they will charge you for everything! And I mean like everything! They will make you pay for water and sewer for like an extra 60$, basic cable whether you use it or not ( so on top of cable you might want to purchase from another company you will still pay for their cable regardless ) which is another 30$ and you'll pay for common electricity? Like I don't want to pay and provide my money to pay for people on the street to have light and pay for my townhome on top of that? You will pay for a service fee of 5$ which is literally just them giving you an email of a breakdown of what you're being charged for !?!? because of the information they send you! they're going to charge you 5$ for that every month. They charge for pest control every month that doesn't even happen once a month and will charge you for maintenance requests that won't even fix for you no matter how many maintenance requests you put in ! My AC unit has not been working for the passed month and every request I put in for it they leave a note on my door saying turn off for 24 hours , alright it's been off for 30 days!!! But instead of coming to look at it and maybe fixing a fan or motor they leave me a note with Google search answers. Which again still paying for maintenance (another 30$) to do absolutely nothing to help me. You will pay for renters insurance , a car port and a car port sticker and if you have another car then another car port sticker which is another like 50$ a month, you will pay for storage and then provide you're own utilities on top of all that . My rent was 1350$ When I signed the lease and then after the first month with all that , I am paying 1600$ a month for everything . They will tell you about the car port , storage, maintenance , and rent in the beginning but in the lease and up front they will not tell you about everything else. I've been living here for about 5 months and have to wait another 7 and so far I have not enjoyed any thing of being here. The townhome I would say is pretty nice but not worth 1600$ a month. You can rent a house that would charge you even less for more rooms and space and free car ports/storage and only paying for yourself not people who send you information or people who need the lights on in the back of your house? Oh also in very very very small print on you're lease when you plan on moving out you have to paint your whole house or you don't get your 500$ security deposit back but no one tells you about this or anything? I only found out because I was reading the lease like 3 times trying to figure out why im being charged for all these...
Read moreFrom the beginning, Hunter has been impossible to communicate with. We scheduled a tour back in May and not only did Hunter not show up, he never sent us a message explaining why or returned our calls. We waited for two hours. Finally, when I was able to get a hold of him, he gave us a tour and we thought the location and the units were worth one miscommunication. However it didn't stop there. He rarely answered my phone calls or emails and when he did he would differ to or answer to my male partner. He never actually got back to us when he would say that he would, and we always had to do the work. We applied for a unit that was listed and put down a deposit back in May for a unit we were told would be available. Not only was the unit not actually available, and the current family has decided to stay (meaning, in my mind, Aspen Cove was going behind the families back trying to sell their lease out from under them) but Hunter failed to communicate that with us until a week before we were told we could move in (and again WE reached out to HIM). He has been grossly unprofessional, uninformed and basically just ignorant of the whole process. If you can avoid working with Hunter, we would highly recommend looking elsewhere for housing, as he has left us in a lurch right before we ourselves were supposed to move out of our current residence. The only good thing that came from this is that we dodged a bullet with him as our potential housing manager.
UPDATE:
My partner went back to get the deposit and Hunter has LOST our deposit! After ignoring our multiple calls and not being at the office, we finally ended up going at a time when he was there, and after searching for 30 minutes he still couldn't find our cheque! Not only has he screwed us over out of a home, but now he has "misplaced" over $500 dollars from us. He said he left it on his desk and can no longer find it. First of all, who leaves a cheque that big on the desk? Secondly, he has just proved once again that he is woefully incompetent at his job and should not be in this position.
The response on this review is a joke - part of the issues is that when we call, Hunter never answers. Seriously guys, I wouldn't post this if it weren't 100% true. Beware of this...
Read moreCurrently living in the complex.
Pros:
Cons: New manager is terrible. Forgets arrangements. Rent is high. The complex used to give free cable and now wants to charge $30 on top of the rent regardless if you use it or not or already pay for it. Be prepared to show manager your bill cause she will ask for it and will even want to call comcast to discuss your account with them. The complex also makes tenants pay for water on top of the rent.
The units themselves are ok at best. Cabinets are falling apart. Nearly every cabinet has had a door fall off due to cabinet age. The complex's solution is to just re-drill new spaces for the hinges. They just installed central air but used the existing ducting which was poorly designed. Your top level remains uncomfortably hot year round. The blinds supplied for the units are the cheapest ever made. ALL of my units blinds broke just from drawing them up and down. If you have kids you better put up drapes or curtains, which the managers will tell you are against the rules. As stated in the lease, management is supposed to give 24 hours notice of their intention to enter your unit. You will get your notice at about 5 or 6pm letting you know they plan on entering your unit as early as 8am the next morning. They will give you a 10 hour window on when they plan on entering in case you want to be there and half the time they wont show up and want to reschedule everything again a few weeks later. The area has been vandalized by some neighborhood children so the owner of the complex personally stopped by every family that has children and told them that it better not be their kids or they will be shown the door.
These are not one-off instances. They happen constantly, almost every month. I am not trying to persuade you to look elsewhere but you should have this information before you commit to...
