Please Read Before Delivering Paper Rolls!!!
It is first come first serve! My appointment was from 0600-1500. I arrived at 0730 and was told by the yard dog to come back at noon, as there were already 20 trucks waiting to be unloaded. I left, ran my errands, came back at 11:45am only to be told that there were more trucks waiting so maybe come back at 17-1800. Decided to just follow my first mind and go check in. There was a waiting list! If I had checked in first in the morning, I would have already been on it!
Arrive early. There is parking on the streets around the area. Check in first thing in the morning and park in the waiting line or if you arrive later and the line is full, ignore the yard dog and walk straight to the shipping office, put your name on the list if there is one, and go park either on the street, at the companies other warehouse not too far up the street, or at Love’s nearby. They will call you once the line opens up.
Hopefully I get unloaded tonight. Will update this review once unloaded.
Update: Got a call around 4:30pm to go park in the waiting line. There was still a line of trucks wrapped around the building with an unloading rate of 1-2 trucks per hour. It is now 6:45am the next day and there are only 5 trucks in front of me waiting to get unloaded. More trucks showed up this morning before 6am and are waiting in line behind me. So be sure to get here well before your 0600-1500 appointment, maybe even the night before if you can, and go ahead and park in the line. Otherwise, you will spend 2-3 clocks here. Good if you need some rest.
Final Update: Finally docked at 11am and getting unloaded. Only one dock for over 25 trucks waiting in line with 45 min average unload time.
Pay attention while you’re waiting in line and docking. Had a guy try to skip the line from the other side and dock as I was turning around to set up. Then, as I was backing in, another driver pulled in on my blind side and was dropping a trailer right where I needed the space to straighten out. Luckily another driver was watching and told me to stop! Never pull in on someone’s blind side as they’re backing up to dock!
I’m pretty sure the yard dog told him to drop the trailer there, as well as the guy to skip the line and dock. Either this guy is new, special, or he’s playing games.
Stay focused...
Read moreIt's first come first serve for paper rolls. Once you enter the property continue past "truck entrance) ((paper rolls only), and follow the road all the way around. You'll reach a" do not enter sign" ignore it and veer to the left. Usually there's a line of trucks waiting but if not, back into door 19. If there are trucks it's about 30-45mins per truck with one of three docks being used. You couldn't get into the other two if you wanted too. Terrible setup. I arrived at 1pm and it's now 330pm still waiting. It's was only 3 trucks ahead of me. It'll be a bs blindside back with a fence on your left and yellow railings making it horrible. It'll be a tight blind back so just know what you're doing. The area for you to pull up to straighten out is about a 2ft drop onto some metal parts they have lying in the way so be carful not to mess up your front end or tires. Once you've docked just stay in your truck and they'll unload you and come to sign paper work. No restroom in...
