This was the 3rd item I had brought to them. All threee items was a no fix. I should of trusted my gut. The very first thing this guy loves to say and you'll see it in other comments is. "I can't guarantee my work. I can't and dont have a tester." Which is BS a true and honest electronic worker knows he can at minimum supply power and see. 1st item was 91 3000gtvr4 ECU that i can understand not working after (said repair) as its more involved but there is a YouTube video he was proud of he takesa brush and is brushing it very rough and violently on the circuit board saying hes cleaning it... but no grounding himself or electronic magnetic strap or bonding strap for himself. All that static electricity! It was careless and unprofessional. Also just a replacement of capacitor seems to be the max capability of this guy. Which is basic. I can do that the same. They seem to do much or much effort aside their website and image... but to have zero faith in their ability upfront is a major red flag. Id advise everyone to not fund this scam or fund this guys learning basic into electronics. I could of bought a whole new component for what I paid. To get the center Air control module out of my car is alot of work completely removing my dash to just imtemkve and completely install to test. That was my 2nd item and it would turn on screen and etc but took it to them as it sometimes would fade or not turn on. Now it dont work at all!! The 3rd was my speed odometer nothing! Doesn't work. They just put "warranty tape seal on it" as if they actually did anything. So, take anything away is this. This "legit business " can't guarantee their work and zero faith in their own ability or confidence that thats the first thing he'll cut you off to say. Ill let the BBB know of this. So, no faith or confidence, can't double check their work, over priced. Unless, you want to just give them money on a "maybe they will fix or maybe they wont" and they'll just say. We dint have a way to test it we need your car. Which BS this guy works in electronics and can't read a component wiring manual or schematic to find out which pin is power and supply power?? I can make a small bench or bench test easy. Don't support these guys 3 times in 1.5 year and was a complete waste. But of course this happened over the weekend when I installed so. Ill see Monday what they say. But put money "we can't test it"
Update: Also, since it won't let me reply to the owner who replied. It was not the same 91' as there was two separate vehicles. And as I stated. I took a working component. Which is now not working after their service of the immediate "i can't test or guarantee my work" which was given before I gave any information out. This is a rip off and shop and I personally can do better and would just advise others to steer clear if not work guarantee is a thing and custom for this guy. To add the fact they do the job and can't even see if they did it right or have zero confidence. Seeing how they messed up a working component. Furthermore, his comment about no response of the ecm was due to their lack of knowledge of electronics or how to properly work on them. If I go into a shop and say hey that YouTube video youre so proud of is completely wrong? Taking a brush and drawing the circuit board and brushing heavy and zero grounding procedures with excess force? This dude destroyed the ecm on my other car. Which i just went stand-alone anyways. But as seeing this is an un reliable shop. I'll be sure to let others know in my realm and about to not give business here. Too much on three components separate vehicles. To even have one that was a working component as well. And if they can't trouble shoot or repair pass a leaking capacitor? What skill of a "repair shop" is this? Replacing capacitors is like changing batteries. Well, thats basically what It is but if they can't even test or troubleshoot their work why bring it here? Instead of being defensive on here they should work on the skills needed to fix and retain quality...
Read moreI own a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan The driver door jams the door wiring each time the door closes, eventually wires get damaged, needing resodoring. I attempted to fix the problem myself, worked temporarily for a time, then the problem worsened, extending the problem to my gauge cluster, A/C and my front windows not rolling down.
I went and talked with John at Automotive Electronics and we sat trying to diagnose the computer issues for a while, but I explained where I thought the problem stemmed from. The door harness for the door is no longer made or available so John did what he could, resodoring all the door wiring up and sealed up the rubber boot in the door for a very reasonable price!
I recommend Automotive Electronics over the dealerships...
Read moreI bought a van from a dealer and he (Dan) referred me to this automotive, and the mechanic named Nick. Well I went in and I saw a young guy about 20 years old. I was expecting to see an experience gentleman. The 20yr old obviously hates talking on the phone to customers and didn't seem to have a good day yesterday. We told him we need our speedometer repaired and he checked our van with his machine gave us the codes he saw and said I don't even know where to start to fix it. It needed a ABS sensor. He drove our van to the front and said who referred you I told him Dan and the dealership name he didn't even seem to know who Dan was. Awkward,...
