This was my first experience with hiring a private chef and it was seamless. Chef John was quick to respond to any questions during the process. The menu was vast and offered a wide range of options to choose from; including accommodating a meal for two young children. We were in a rental and not sure of what dinnerware, cookware would be available. Chef John arrived on time and with everything required to prepare a most enjoyable meal. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented, looking like a work of art. All the appetizers were fantastic, with our favorite being the pear and prosciutto crostini with cream cheese and honey. We also had the mixed berry salad with the avocado crème, the wild mushroom and black truffle risotto, seared wagyu beef and the baked Alaska, all were superb. The Chef and staff were very friendly, explained each dish as they were presented; this was truly a memorable dining experience, exceeding all expectations. Definitely recommend Chef John, Michelin Star chef & owner of Orange County Private Chefs. He’s done countless private events all over the world and cooked for many Coto residents in their homes too. He is very covid cautious and honestly makes you want to stay home and eat in the comfort of your house rather than dining out in a busy restaurant packed with people. He talks through the menu beforehand and discusses exactly what’s best suited for you and your guests, offers tasters and is great at entertaining as he has many stories from working with Gordon Ramsay in London, cooking for famous people including Kings & Queens in Thailand & celebrities in South of France. Well travelled & verrrryyy high end experienced British/French chef with great prices & adaptable menu. His food is literally the best I’ve ever had & the best gift to give a loved one for their special day/event. Our go to for any celebration now, including birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, family get together and so much more. 10/10...

Chef John was nothing but professional and spectacular. After booking him we got to work on the menu and Chef John made this process seamless for me. We had a couple of specific requests and these were fully accommodated. Chef John arrived a few hours before appetizers were due to come out, and it was like I didn't even know he and the team were there in all their prep... As guests started to arrive and we eased into the evening, Chef John kept me in the loop on timing on when to advise the party to sit and then from there it was like a harmonious symphony course after course. Each dish came with a full and detailed explanation and even a little game with some courses in guessing the ingredients which was fun for the group! Each dish was very good, our only complaint was there was to much, everyone was very full... Overall an amazing evening and the kitchen was so clean afterwards, you wouldn't have known we had just had an 11 seated 6 course meal. Highly recommend Chef John...
