I've been thrifting my whole life and prices have been pretty chill the last 20 years, but suddenly corporations have an interest in profiting off used clothing as public interest is geared more towards climate change mitigation and being less wasteful in general. In response, corporations seem to have doubled or tripled prices to get in on the profits. The days of reasonable prices are long gone. Expect to pay $9 per shirt (!!!!!!) and anything name brand will be $$$$ It appears as if goodwill is happily charging expensive prices for used clothing that they don't wash or inspect for damage. if I wanted to pay these prices for clothing I'd pay full retail price or go to Nordstrom Rack. There are other used clothing retailers in the area with exceptional or standard pricing.
PROS: -organized by color and size -Name brand selection
CONS: -employees were rude and unapproachable -was asked to move multiple times while actively shopping racks to allow the salesperson to move what I was looking through to place an item in that space. Your employees should wait until a customer has moved Instead of barging into their shopping zone. This is basic retail customer service and for the prices you're charging that should be a minimal expectation.
Would not recommend based on pricing alone. In general it seems goodwill is raising prices but I wonder if they've raised their employees wages to compensate too? Or are they increasing their "donations" to communities in need? Just some things to ponder as you support...
Read moreI have been shopping at different goodwills all over San Diego for the past 10 years. But today was one of the worst experiences I've had. The manager there should not be working there at all. As soon as I walk into the store I felt the stare of judgment. I started to walk around the store with my shopping cartand her eyes and some of the employees eyes would only follow me I felt so harassed and and discriminated against that I decided just to walk out and not buy anything. Somebody should tell that lady manager that the clothes is donated they do not spend a dime on them. That maybe she should go ahead and get herself a security job somewhere instead of managing a store. If she only knew how much I have spent at that store and many other stores she should be ashamed of herself and how much I have donated in the past years I no longer want to come to this location because the lady will be there most likely and most likely she will judge anybody that comes she gives you that face of disgust and worried like if you're going to steal when the company did not spend a dime. It angers me so much because she walks around like she's hot stuff when she is probably broker...
Read moreI want to tell the people who work in this store that you are absolutely talented. I was in there today waiting in line to check out and I happened to look up toward the back of the store and I was awestruck by several of your "table top" displays. My eye was directed from one table top to the other and ending at the back of the store on an oversized framed picture. Each display contained a myriad of objects (paper flowers, a giant vase, small framed picture, more glassware, objects d'art etc.) color coordinated and displayed just so your eye would skip to the next "stepping stone" display. I made my companion come back in the store just to check it out. She was suitably impressed. You are a talented group of employees. It actually made me want to buy all that stuff to take home and set it up just like you did. Very attractive, yet subtle. In addition, this is the cleanest, most organized of all the Goodwill stores in San Diego and certainly the best of all the other kinds of thrift shops I've ever been in. Thank you for taking good care of my...
