Don’t be fooled by the sign “bookstore” on the island, you will only find souvenirs that glorify life on Alcatraz and normalize the U.S. Prison Industrial Complex. Nothing truly educational to see here! At the bare minimum would expect more literature on the Indigenous Protest held here...

My friends and I purchased several items from the souvenir shop. Few nice employees approached us and help us, which I appreciated. Cashier Gordon helped us with a big smile and positive attitude, he stamped out posts cards and showed us more around the store....

Very well organized, lots of souvenirs and such. A few books on the actual prison, but hey we're here for the LIVE tour after all. The employees were very friendly...
