One of the biggest farmers' markets I have ever been to. Tons of local Bay Area businesses that specialize in produce, meat, honey, fresh juice, coffee, plants, flatbreads, and the list goes on....
Some of my favorite vendors were:
Bolani: Specializes in vegan sauces and Afghan flatbreads! Absolutely delicious and they give free samples.
Xiong Farm: They have so many different kinds of eggplants! I bought two HUGE Chinese eggplants from them and they were so fresh.
Sweetdragon Baking: PLEASE try their chicken pot pies!! OMG, they are are to die for! I highly recommend bringing them home and putting them in the toaster oven for 10 minutes. EXCELLENT.
Roli Roti Gourmet: There's just something so satisfying about seeing some rotisserie chickens rotating away inside of a food truck. The line gets pretty long here. Very popular vendor.
Ken's Top Notch: In the summer, they have TONS of fresh mango nectarines and white peaches! Super sweet and they give free samples of all their fruit.
Hidden Star Orchards: REFRESHING juice! Perfect to sip on while you're walking around the farmers' market in the sun. I recommend the Apple Cherry...
Read moreIt’s a weekly gathering of the comfortably affluent and ultra achieving elite of the mid peninsula - not the billionaire residents of Burlingame and Hillsboro but the local community who have earned and educated their ways into the six-figure stratosphere. A high end wine bar or Michelin starred restaurant? No. It’s a morning farmers’ market that sets up shop every Saturday at the College of San Mateo mountaintop campus. From here, you can gaze out at the Salesforce Tower and Bay Bridge or watch the planes touch down at SFO airport. You can wait in line for organic pastured eggs from Pescadero, gather grass-fed cream that is raw and full of life, choose ultra fresh organic avocados picked ripe from the orchard less than 48 hours earlier, grab fresh coffee and beans from an artisan micro roaster, gather wild foraged mushrooms, get pasture raised meats, wild caught fish, naturally leavened bread. And more. Much more. Amazon Fresh cannot come close to the ambience and exclusivity that this spot does. It is beyond a mere market;...

As more small farms turn to sustainable practices that number grows every year so keep an eye out for the random organic farmer tucked amongst the conventional growers. There are usually two different musical groups playing at opposite ends of this large market. The downside is that the College has moved the Market from a lower parking lot to a large upper lot and now they are in the furthest back lot to the northeastern end of the campus. This makes parking and leaving the parking areas a major PITA, so much so that they have to put crossing guards between the actual Market and the main parking area so pedestrians can walk across safely. This may be safer for walkers than the previous location but since everyone drives there it’s much more of a hassle to get there and then get out. So...
