Came here today with family and friends. My friends wife and her daughter got out of their car while her husband was waiting for a spot to become available. the owner came over and said you can’t park there. My friends wife said her husband was waiting for a spot to open up. The owner pointed towards the fence and said “go ahead and park there like the other idiots have already done.” When we approached the office, my friend and I heard the notorious old lady telling a customer “if you come back with another tangled rod you’re not getting another one” We went fishing at a few different ponds. Right away, one of the reels got tangled because they don’t wind their spools tightly when they put line on, in addition to having cheap and faulty equipment. I went and requested a new rod. Within minutes, my line got stuck in the low hanging tree branches over the pond so I had to break the line and get another rod. The old lady employee looked annoyed as she gave me another rod. Some advice: if you’re going to get annoyed when people loose their line in your trees, maybe you should cut the branches that are in the way of people casting. The rod she gave me had the same issue as the 1st rod. Due to their not winding the line on the reel tight, it created a big mess around the reel and got knotted up. I went to the male employee and he looked at me and rudely said “ do you even know how to fish?!” I said “yes, I’ve been fishing almost my whole life. My fishing isn’t the problem. If I go through 3 different rods in a span of 20 minutes, it’s your guy’s faulty equipment and the way you loosely wind the line to the reel in a way that causes it to bunch up.” He said if it happens again, I don’t get anymore equipment. I told him fine, if that happens we will just go elsewhere as the staff seems incompetent in both their ability to maintain equipment and their failure to know how to interact with people in a positive manner. We get back to fishing and we do have more issues with the poles but decide to fix the problems ourselves instead of facing down the rude and intimidating staff running the pole area. I gave up on my pole and went to playing around onmy phone instead. A while later the owner approached me and said “we are closing in 15 minutes” I was in the middle of sending a text so it took me a couple of seconds to raise my head to acknowledge him. Before I could say anything, he asked “do you speak English?!” I said “ that’s kinda rude” He walked away but came back a minute later and said in an aggressive tone “you thought that was rude?” I said “yes, since we’ve been here, every one of the staff has been rude and unprofessional so we have a bad feeling about how we were approached.” Up until that point we had no idea he was the owner. He said “I’m the owner so I’ll be sure to talk to my staff about their behavior. It’s obvious based on a lot of the negative reviews on here, that he doesn’t ever talk to the staff and I’m sure the staff acting the way they do is from a direct result of the management of this company in which the owner calls their customers idiots for the way they park to asking people if they speak English if he doesn’t get a response within a second. We will not be...

Our 6 yr old daughter has been into fishing since she was 2 yrs old. She started off with a Fisher Price fishing kit and then was given a real set of her own. We took her to places like Bishop, Leavenworth, Clear Lake and Lost Lake, and other camping spots to practice her casting, but yesterday was her first time catching REAL trout! This may be the highlight of the summer for her.
Easy to navigate finding this trout farm. There are signs everywhere in what seems like a residential place. We were greeted by this friendly woman who gave us fishing rods, some worms, a bucket with some water, and a net. She told us that ponds 1 & 2 have smaller fish, ponds 3-5 have medium to big fish, and the pond further in the back has the biggest fish. They were restocking ponds 4 & 5 when we arrived on a Tuesday.
This is an excellent place to take your kids and for everyone to learn how to fish. We were told by friends and family we were guaranteed to catch fish here, so we expected to easily get our first one within an hour of arriving, but we ended up spending a couple of hours here first before catching our first one. We learned a lot! Everyone was catching fish all around us, so we stepped up our luring game and bought a small jar of power bait. We even put a worm with the power bait and that's when we started catching fish. I did see some folks catch with just a worm on their hook, and there were some others with power bait.
My kid was so excited to catch her first fish. It's exciting to feel the fish fight back when you reel them in. We caught 3 trout at pond 5. There are benches to sit on. Lots of trees for some shade.
Two 13" and one 14" rainbow trout is what we walked away with. The man at the cleaning station was friendly and did everything for us. All we had to do is show up and have fun at this place.
Two portable potties in the parking lot and flushing toilets near the cleaning station. In the women's restroom there is a smaller toilet for the kids next to an adult toilet. I thought that was very accommodating. Vending machines for...
Read moreWell I was in town (sandy) for my 40th high-school reunion last week, I drove all night from the bay area, in California. Since I cam in through Central Oregon, I decided I wanted to see my old house, that I grew up I. It just happend to be right across the road from. The trout farm. It just so happens that I was the first on there, that Saturday morning. When I saw the trout farm , I was absolutely amazed at how it had changed, since I was last there 40 + years ago, did I mention I use to work at the farm back in the 70's. I wS I was cheerfully greated by the owner of the trout farm I introduced myself, and gave him a brief rundown on how I was raised there as a kid, in fact all 3 of us boys were raised up there. Long story short the owner who's name eludes me at the moment asked if I would like to see what they had done with the place I excitedly agreed, I was just blow away at what they had done with the property, it has never looked so beautiful! The professionalism that was carefully thought out to the smallest detail. Then I had the honor to try to catch a fish, and I did just that, a beautiful 3lb 19" rainbow trout, the whole experience brought tears to my eyes, the memories that were made that Saturday morning, were added to the ones that I made over 40 years ago their team that works there were so friendly, helpful, and professional, I absolutely recommend that everyone who is anywhere near the trout farm , swing by, even if you don't fish, there's memories there waiting to be made. I will never forget the wonderful memories that I made that misty morning in 2022 and 40 years ago. Sincerely Dave Lopes...
