Celery Food Mart — Local services in Sanford

Borderline criminal. This store is overcharging customers. It appears as though they are charging double sales tax, PLUS an unposted fee for customers who pay with credit card.

For example, on several occasions, I purchased two "Clubtails" alcoholic beverages, and the posted price in the cooler is "2 for $3.75". When I went to the register, it should have been $4.13 with 7% sales tax (Seminole county rate). The cashier said "$4.26" which is already an overcharge of DOUBLE the sales tax. When I go to pay, their credit card machine says "$4.45". When I ask why I'm being charged even more, he says "5% fee for credit card purchases under $5". I looked around for a sign listing this policy, but did not see one.

The owners of this business are openly racist to their customers. They routinely overcharge and make up prices as they go along. They advertise food as being one price but when you make the purchase, it's more than advertised. Also, it's very unsanitary. Do not soend your money at this racist establishment. This is the only store around I have seen they charge if you are paying with card no matter what the amount is. Even if you are paying 20$ still they are charging card fee.
