I was fortunate to be invited by my brother-in-law to play this course on 8/24/2020. This was my first time on the course. The course was immaculate! In this area, I don't think you will find a better course. The fairways were lush, green, and groomed. The greens were beautifully manicured and had the right speed. There was a fair amount of sand placed on the greens but, it's part of maintaining a golf course. The sand traps are raked and maintain a soft surface to get your club under the ball for proper lift. I found myself in 3 bunkers and came out nicely on every one. Holes 14 & 15 are the only two water hazards that come into play. All 18 holes were beautiful and a pleasure to play. I believe my brother-in-law paid $40 each for the round and it was every bit worth it. I am a municipal golfer and I don't have a handicap. I play to have fun, but I play better on a better course. If you keep your ball in play, this course will reward you with every shot! Even the tee boxes were level for the most part. Although I live in Fayetteville, I will be playing this course in the future. Thanks Quail Ridge for providing a golf course that is beautiful and a pleasure to play! See you soon.
UPDATE...Quail Ridge offers a Loyalty Membership Card. Initial cost is $75, then $30 per visit for senior, and $35 for all others annually. The golf club at Quail Ridge remains my favorite course in the...
Read more1st off I did not intend to play here today. I was meeting a group at Whispering Pines but got lost on the way (cell phone busted using printed out Google maps, smh) and when I updated my group to my whereabouts about 20 minutes till T time..... well I'm actually a whole day early! I've driven 2 hours so I might as well find a place to play and salvage the day. Looked around for what was closest and Quail ridge was it. What a pleasant surprise! Explained the situation to Dale at the front desk and he was sympathetic and gave me a cut rate on riding 9. But strangely the credit card machine was down so he asked me to stop by on my way out which of course I agreed to. Course was in great shape greens rolled nicely but it did rain very heavily the night before and it was quite wet in many areas but that would be the only negative. I ended up pairing up with a single rider in front of me who turned out to be the grandson of a member and got to play the entire round for free and actually played 16 holes. Looking forward to coming back here, nice course, great staff, great shape but need some drainage help but otherwise 4 stars for me. (I gave only 4 because it's very rare to play 5 star courses without paying top $) Way to salvage a negative situation to a big positive and looking forward to...
Read moreI hate posting a 3 here but some attention is required. Played on 8/12, just after they reopened following the recent tropical storm. The course was in cart path only status, which we fully expected. We were informed of that while checking in, plus there were signs everywhere. Ok, no problem, we expected it. BUT, we went out to hit some balls on the range and was again told by Mr. Ranger that it was cart path only. No 90 degree, no driving in the rough, no driving anywhere but on the cart path. Ok, we got it. Now we proceed to the 1st tee and this guy aggressively goes through his speil once again. We got it the first three times dude. We're 60 something year Olds, not junior high students. We'd had so much of it, I was tempted to drive the cart right onto the tee box and go ahead and get kicked out. Take it easy y'all, we frickin got it! And in another flash of annoyance by this guy, he proceeds to pick up any balls that were left on the range. I often leave a few behind in case someone gets there a little late and wants to just hit a few without having to buy a bucket. Its a little bit of kind etiquette. These balls are ALREADY PAID FOR! Now your picking them up and charging for them again. That's kind of crooked. As for the course and the guy in the clubhouse,...
