I just left and the trip was really fun I suggest kayaking, but there was one problem while squid dissecting. Two counselors were playing it like a game whoever got the most points at the end won fries or something. It was all normal until they asked “who’s feeling brave?” I almost raised my hand thank gosh I didn’t. they picked a couple of people and they brought a part of their squid with them. Then they had to do squats and put their squid head on their nose, then their eye, and here’s the disturbing part, they had the people put it on their tongue...If that wasn’t disrespectful enough they also had us put ink on our face and then they tricked us into using the squid to clean it off our faces! This was all for a point to win fries! When It was over we went in the showers to wash the ink off while we were waiting someone started having a panic attack It was scary my heart was racing. People were trying to get adults ti help but there was no one. So someone who had panic attacks in the past went in to help. There was adults who eventually showed up and took her somewhere. But this was after the other person helped. After this the chaperones took turns watching over the bathrooms. It ended up being useful because another person had a panic attack. The rest of the trip was really fun and I suggest other schools to choose this trip. Something that kind of bothered me but not as much as the other is when me and my partner were going to our cabin with a couple other students that were ahead of me made it to their cabin but me and my partner were still waking to the cabin and the counselor saw all of us but only told me and my partner to come back because they wanted us to “leave as a group” So me and my partner asked our chaperone is we could leave and she said yes so we did and we got yelled at again. Then someone who was in their cabin came back to get something and they didn’t get yelled at to come back. But overall it was a really...

this is my 4th time going the first year i went i didn't have the best experience because my counselor was new and very strict i also hurt my knee in the middle of the week which sucked. But the next year i had a counselor named bubbles, she was the nicest person there!!! she made my time at camp fox amazing despite her making us do things that we sometimes didn't want to do it was a fun experience, we also won cabin of the week!!! Last year we had 2 new counselors and since me and my friend went there every year they asked us for advice they were also pretty strict sometimes but they were very cool. Mainly the times when there mean is to the most annoying girl in the group. Be aware of that girl/boy in your group who is selfish and doesn't like doing anything, you just have to deal with them. They have a dance after dinner games, the high ropes are the best even if your scared of heights you must try them out. Tubing was pretty fun because you get to ride in a tube with your friend and ride on the waves of camp fox. the first 2 years i was very scarred and i didn't go on them, nut last year i went and at the beginning it was pretty fun but near the end of the week my friend and i went and hit our jaws on the tube and flew 10 feet in the air!!! u might think that was super fun but it wasn't my friend thought it was but it wasn't. we went to the medic for Advil's i guess it worked i cant remember. Over all that one week at camp fox is the best and i will go every year as possible. the food there is great and healthy the girls villas are kinda sad cause u don't have walls but that the whole point of "camping". its lots of fun and i really...

WOW! Where do I start?!? This place is my home sweet home. Camp Fox is the best place in the whole world I almost wanted to go to go there instead of Tahiti over the summer!! Everyone is SO sweet and by the way I go to the Glendale YMCA Camp Fox and I could talk about it all day long. While the staff and everyone were so amazing, the bathrooms were DISGUSTING! There was fecal manner ON THE WALLS OF THE STALL and the mirrors were covered in orange paint!! The showers were dirty and the food was not so great either. When me and my friends went to get food, the plates were dirty!! They gave us dirty plates to put our food on and there was moldy bread and everything. The desserts were also kind of funky with oreos and raspberry syrup on top and sprinkles or something. They always ran out of milk so I would be eating plain cereal. A fox also crawled into my villa and stole ALL OF MY FRIEND'S FOOD. Also there are SO MANY BEES AND WASPS there so be careful!! Overall the camp was AMAZING, but they DEFINITELY need to work on their cleaning skills especially with their dishes and utensils especially if we go back this next summer if covid is done because that will probably still be a huge issue even if we get the okay next year! Also they DEFINITELY need to set some ground rules of that obviously if you are in the bathroom and deciding where your fecal manner should go, I suggest the toilet. But best camp in the whole wide world, I could never ever pass up the opportunity ESPECIALLY to go with...

My kids went to a 3 day Ocean science camp with the middle school. After the trip, my kids where raving mad in how awesome STEM camp. Very hard to follow them talking in the car ride after three days. So many stories. Kids are involve with activities, Tide pooling, snorkeling, hiking, kayaking. CIMI Fox camp has a ocean science lab. Hand on lab allow the kids touch crab, squid, urchins and etc. Plankton lab, microscope, touch tanks Food is provided over the tree days. Food serve buffett style. Breakfast eggs biscuts, fruits, cereal milk and juice. Lunch/ Dinner serve on Rotation daily. Some of the meal included tacos, orange chicken and hamburgers. Cabin with six bunks bed. Clean shower. Staff nice and friendly.. No cell service. Camp has a land line for emergency only. Kids are excited to go again next year.

When you live and work in a remote location. When your life is about being part of something greater than yourself. When you live with 40 of life's most thoughtful, kind , generous people of all ages , genders and backgrounds, you ask yourself.. what is heaven on earth ? The answer is here. The overwhelming feeling of accomplishment, the world of teaching and learning, guiding young people towards a life of discovery is a blessing from Yeshawe and a gift from my Creator. I love my life here on Catalina island, Fox Landing.

Our daughter went there with her school. The food was bland. Nothing great about it. Some of her friends got sick. Waffles were like " bricks with soggy inside." The bunks are way too firm . Bathrooms were not clean. Water pressure is too low.Not enough showers . Not enough toilet paper.always out. Hike was too steep in wet conditions, not safe. Instructors were nice and friendly. Also, the location was pretty.
