If you're in Santa Claus, IN, this quaint little "castle" should be a must-stop on your list of places to visit.
Candy is in their name for good reason. You'll find several rooms full of it: Modern sweets, classic, harder-to-find goodies, and even a room full of Pez. Flavored popcorn and taffy are here, too. And if you want something non-edible, choose from a selection of Christmas books, shirts, and ornaments. You won't find nearly the selection you can find at the Christmas Store about a mile away, but it's still worth checking out.
But this place is best known for a unique treat you won't find anywhere else: Frozen hot cocoa. Topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream, it's an absolute must on your visit. It's rich, delicious, and especially refreshing if you're visiting during the warmer months. There's even an "Avalanche" challenge if you think you can down a mammoth-sized version of the concoction.
There are tables in the main room with the counter where you can sit and enjoy your treats along with your frozen hot cocoa. Christmas tunes playing over the speakers completed the whole Yuletide-themed experience.
My only issues would be that the back room is too small, and the circular room just before it needs better lighting. But they're minor quibbles in the long run.
Overall, Santa's Candy Castle is worthy of a stop on your visit to the area. It's a great place to slow down, grab a table, sip a frozen hot cocoa, and browse their huge selection of candy and other edibles.

One of the highlights of my visit was the amazing hand-made popcorn. The variety of flavors was incredible, and each one was crafted with care. However, the pizza popcorn stood out the most. It was a unique blend of savory and cheesy goodness that I had never tasted before. I couldn't get enough of it!
But the real star of the show was the frozen hot chocolate. It was the perfect treat for a warm summer day. The rich and creamy chocolate flavor was heavenly, and the frosty texture made it incredibly refreshing. I was blown away by how delicious it was.
Throughout my time at Santa's Candy Castle, I couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail and the dedication of the owner. It's evident that they take great pride in their products and go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Their passion for creating memorable treats truly shines through.

Read moreWe have made the Candy Castle part of our annual trip to Holiday World for the past 13 years. If youâve never been to the Candy Castle, I highly recommend the stop. Not only is it a unique find with all kinds of candy familiar, unfamiliar, and strange, but it is family run. The owner, Kevin, is truly passionate about making your experience a good one. He really knows his candy, and is full of facts and information - all you have to do is ask. And I hope you do - chatting with him this year was truly a highlight of our trip. While telling him that Iâd brought my dad in years past and he was excited about finds like the Clark bar and Zagnut, but my dad passed away this year, Kevin went in and brought me one of each and told me to have a candy bar in his memory. It really touched me. He made my sonâs day too talking about a favorite candy. All of the staff is always so friendly too. Our whole family looks forward to our annual trip to the Candy Castle. Santa Claus, IN is blessed to have a such an incredible family owned business in town. Finally, if you make it in, be sure to buy a frozen hot chocolate - you wonât...
