This is a nice park nestled in the Sarasota Memorial area of Sarasota Florida. Once you’ve arrived at the park you will notice the nice public pool. However due to COVID-19 the pool is only open for lap swimming by reservations only. Masks must be worn Arrington and leaving the pool area. Each reservation spot lasts for forty five minutes. The pool is heated. There is a nice large dog park within the walking trail. The dog park has small cooling off pools for the dogs to play in. Water so that you can not only give your dog a fresh drink but also put fresh water in the little pools. There are plenty of picnic tables for sitting while watching the dogs inside the fenced in area. I also noticed that people leave their own chairs there for people to sit in a more comfortable chair. This park has a really nice walking trail filled with wildlife. There are many different species of birds. Several species of turtles. All of them act as though you are going to feed them. I’m guessing people must feed them. They are so used to the dogs coming and going that it really doesn’t seem to affect them. There is a compose area for the plant life in the park. There are many beautiful plants to enjoy while walking the trail. The game Pokémon go has several stops in the park. There are benches and picnic tables throughout the park for...
Read moreTsunami swim team coach plays favorites: The coach (woman) plays favorites. She blatantly encouraged one child when they won and told the others, specifically mine, that they had in fact lost due to some "technicality" invented by said coach. No matter how hard my child tired he/she could do nothing well while the other child lorded over the situation basking in continual validation from the coach. It can be demoralizing to other kids not on the receiving side of said favoritism. The first time my child told me about it I viewed it as an isolated incident ...until I heard it repeatedly over the course of 4 months. Suddenly I was alarmed. Why had I allowed this to continue for so long, hence this review. My child became chronically upset and I considered talking to the coach however I recalled the coach's negative and dismissive attitude when I had previously approached her about an unrelated matter and therefore felt that such a conversation may make the situation worse because I truly felt by this point that the coach did not have my child's best...
Read moreThis is a great pool to go to if your only desire is to get wet. If you have thoughts about bringing your children and expecting them to have fun, consider almost any other place, perhaps even the hose in your backyard. The lifeguards there will make sure that you and your children have a completely unenjoyable experience. At every chance they get, the lifeguards will make sure to chastise your children for swimming too loudly, splashing, laughing, and generally having fun. Not to say that I don't realize there have to be certain rules at a pool. You can't run, you shouldn't play on the lane lines, and no diving. We were the only people in the entire pool, with the exception of one gentleman doing laps about four or five lanes away from us. It seemed that it was the lifeguards personal mission to make sure we did not have one moment of enjoyable time. They certainly missed their calling as prison guards.Even though I live right down the street from this beautiful pool, it would be the absolute last choice for me to bring my...
