It’s filled with poop and P water it is disgusting and gets people sick I personally would not set foot in it but I’ll drive my boat through it. Just so everyone reading this knows if somebody is a “Local guide” doesn’t mean anything anybody can be one so a lot of these people that say they love this river they need to specify where the they are because in Brevard County Cocoa, Merritt Island it is disgusting and I don’t know anybody who would go in it. There are no more fish we’ve had nothing but brown algae for the past four months huge fish kills over the years but still people below are saying they love it and it’s beautiful no people beautiful anymore it get off your computer and go look at it. I love what it once was but with all the septic problems we have it’s nothing but poop and P water I posted a photo, tell me how clean this water looks! Read moreThe Indian River Lagoon or IRL is a saltwater body of water that was mislabeled a "River" when it was actually a true "Lagoon" on Central Florida's east coast near Kennedy Space Center and Brevard County.

It's not bad for pleasure boaters, but again, you have to know where you're going. The murky water makes navigation difficult at times, especially at night, so be sure to watch out for shallow spots, underwater structure, etc.
It beats staying on land, so head...
