Campground was nice. Some people camping were not. Camping in nature is not about playing loud music, being loud and smoking weed from sunrise until who knows when at night. Also, voices carry ,so don't be swearing!! There were families and a Boy Scout troop there to unwind and relax,just like us. Do your partying at your own house or somewhere else away from the public. Our nice getaway became anything but that. The ranger on duty just basically said " oh well, what can I do?". We left a day early because of this...I had already paid for it and lost my money and my faith in the Mass. DCR. Sorry for the rant. I Love the outdoors-the park was beautiful-our experience...
Read moreThis place was great. We got a reservation on the first day they allowed, July 1st. I would suggest staying by the south pond, site 16 or 18. Though, if you like staying on an open field, go for the higher numbered sites. You can get down to a great swimming hole with ease. There is a great day-use area, though it is dog-free. The south pond's unguarded swimming hole is perfect to cool down your furry friend. The old growth forest is so pretty and cool, that it is nice and shady all day.
