We take either inflatable rafts, pool toys, and even air mattresses and float down the river. We call this redneck river rafting and itâs hella fun! Been doing it since we were kids and since our own kids could walk and they are all teenagers now! Water has definitely been clearer⊠The biggest thing to note about the Scioto is where the deeper spots are. We have a set route we go on every year and know where itâs a bit deeper but I highly recommend wearing life vests and taking a long pole or an oar to help navigate. Even if youâre familiar with it youâll want something to help move your âraftâ away from the banks when it drifts & also to check the depth. Safety first and obviously donât take any risks.. as long as the water isnât too high itâs a great place to float! Weâve taken an inflatable raft in when the water was pretty high. Not something I would recommend unless you are fully prepared safety wise/good craft, know how to swim, and have something to navigate the river banks/current with. When the water level is pretty low the river bed is very rocky so we always wear lightweight shoes that wonât fall off to prevent injuries because we walk it a lot...

Archery is done well with walkabout season and ranging season. So archer's will have...
