I am sad I have to even write this review because I absolutely love Corky’s and the friendliness given to the customers I have experienced in the past. Today was a different story however. I live an hour away from Corky’s and made the trip to return 10 landscaping plants that I had purchased 1 week ago for our church since we were updating some landscaping and found that we didn’t have as much shade as we had thought and the plants wouldn’t work in the areas we were hoping. My intention was to purchase sun loving plants instead when I returned the shade lovers. Upon arriving at Corky’s I brought in the 10 plants. All very healthy but 1. They had all been watered multiple times a day and even rained on on top of that watering with high temps in the 90’s+ they needed it and 1 just didn’t survive. I had anticipated that they probably wouldn’t return the one that I would just be refunded for 9 and I would have been ok with that. The girl behind the counter said that she would have to check with a manager and I told her that was no problem. The gentleman that came over picked up the plant and was almost yelling at me and VERY rude saying it died because it was too dry and that’s why it died etc. I explained they were all watered daily and everything else was healthy and that one just didn’t live even though it was watered like the others. Before I could even say there would be no problem about not being able to return that one he slammed it on the counter and threw up his hands and told the girl to just return it. He then went to his computer chair behind the counter and sat down and continued to mumble and state the condition of the plant in a very unprofessional and rude tone and loudly enough for other customers to hear. Read moreI recently purchased a hibiscus plant and a few days after I noticed some tiny black bugs all over it. I called and was informed that the plants came to them infested with aphids but the plants were treated already and no further action was needed on my end because the bugs should be dead or dying.
Today I noticed the bugs were definitely alive and crawling around so I called again and they said I would need to further treat the plant to get rid of the aphids. Unfortunately they would not cover the cost of treatment despite knowingly selling me an infested plant.
I have spent quite a bit of money here the past few weeks and I feel it is really unfair that they sold me an infested plant, didn’t tell me at time of purchase that it had an aphid outbreak but was already treated, and then wouldn’t cover the cost of what I need to take care of this problem
My experience here up until this point has been so good that I’m disappointed I’ll no longer feel comfortable giving them...
Read moreHi, I hate to have to write this review but I've shopped there a bunch of times and spent a lot of money on shrubs, hanging baskets etc. This year we bought a bunch of hanging baskets and 2 shepherd hooks. When we got home we put the shepherd hooks in the ground and put the plant on it and it fell over. I came in today to return and the lady behind the counter was quite rude . I felt she was annoyed that I had a return and she really got upset that i did not have the tags. I did have the receipt which she kept to make new tags. I then asked about the plant stands next to the counter and she said they were not in the system yet. I said I can't buy them she said again they are not in the system yet . I guess I should be thanking her because not only was I going to buy the 3 plant stands but i was going to take 2 of the hibiscus trees. I guess they are so busy it's ok to loose a customer here and there. I will take our business elsewhere from now on....
