The worst place you can take a group of kids to. I went there with 65 kids hoping to have a good time. But it was a complete total opposite of what I expected! The equipment we were promised to have to start our convention, and refrigerators in the kitchen were not working. I adressed the issue to the manager. She started yelling in front of all my kids , pointing fingers saying their is nothing she could do, and did not know things were not working. In the rooms the bedsheets were dirty and dead bugs were all over the bathroom floors. I had also reserved a cabin in addition to the conference center. The ACE wasn't working and moved us to a different cabin. The new cabin we transferred to was dirty,and kids stayed up all night due to the bug bites. The next morning I found a tick crawling up in my purse. When we got back to our hometown some kids had to go the doctors due to the bug bites and they were told the kids were bitten by bed bugs. Overall it's a nasty place, rude manager, and I would NEVER suggest this...
Read moreCamp Maranatha is awesome! We took a group of 50 young professionals (age 25-40) out to Camp for breakfast, service projects, and to experience the ropes course & water activities.
The staff and facilitators were incredible and we already booked again for next year. I can't say enough great things about this place and the people who run it. Wonderful experience. Treasure of North AL.
Also Camp Counselor Chase is the VERY BEST. Our whole crew loved Chase and we couldn't have made this happen...
