Wonderful blend of functional and artistic!
We wanted to invest in some high-quality pottery that functions as a conversation starter. We decided to go with serving dishes and bakeware we can bring out for guests. Some of the local potters make pieces that lean more towards function but look like something you'd pick up from Home Goods. Others make art qua art, and if they do make a bowl or dish, it has a glaze toxic for human use! Thomas Pottery fit the bill in that they combine the intricate detailing that makes it art with genuine kitchen utility. For example, the handles feel ergonomic to hold, yet also have the gourd vine pattern.
