Gorgeous view of the Pacific coastal region. This is also a filming location for the Goonies. The viewpoint looks down into Cannon Beach and nearby Haystack Rock. The area even in the summer months is relatively cool so a windbreaker may be required. To the northwest is the view of the lighthouse. There are picnic tables and restrooms in the park. Keep in mind there is a $5 parking fee but the experience is worth the expense. Many birds call this place home, so for all you bird lovers have a blast. The trip down to the Fork between Ecola and Indian Beach is a little rough, so be careful when driving as the road is winding. From the two small pathways, you get amazing views of the ocean as well as past haystack rock. Kind of disappointed that we couldn't go down there, but viewing from the top was still great! But nothing much we could do here. The trails are short and it seems that restrooms were torn down. We only spent about 30 minutes here. Though no beach access from the view point, you still could access beach from the back -- not recommended for general people since you need some skill to go...
