So much savings on certain foods and produce! I had to quickly run to my local supermarket (Lucky) because it was just 1 item, and it's a bit closer. I picked up hillshire smoked sausage for about $6.50. Not sure if you can clearly see the price in the picture, but it's $2.26 at the commissary! I believe you get the biggest bang for your buck on meat (steak, chicken, pork) at the commissary. The deli sandwiches are tasty and a good deal compared to subway. Also, you need to bring your own grocery bags. They have self service check out. Great store, easy parking, never really busy. There's a goodwill drop off in the parking lot as well.

The commissary is great for the usual staples of food. Nice selection of some German items as well. Prices for the most part were comparable to the other stores and some things were cheaper. I’d say about 75% of the items were on the cheaper side. All name brand items as well as their own branded items called Freedoms Choice.

Perfect place to shop, unless you go on a Federal payday! Love Modesto but I miss Marina 😏

I'm so thankful for our Ft. Ord commissary during this pandemic! Being a military facility, it's much easier for the employees to enforce the mask mandate than it is for employees of civilian grocery stores. I'm in several groups that are highly vulnerable to the virus. The commissary is one of the few places in which I feel safe to do my grocery shopping. I've shopped in commissaries since 1982. They have always been life-saving for me, since I fed five children for many years. Thanks to this benefit of my husband's military career, I've fed our family name-brand foods for store-brand prices. We just returned home after doing a major stock-up at the Ft.Ord commissary. Our cats, my husband and I will eat well throughout the holidays, no matter what happens in the...

We always loved going there as kids, a long long time ago. As an adult, I would go as a guest. Before the current situation, I would take Mom's elderly friends that needed assistance and a ride. Now I can't because of the no guest policy. I would need a health care worker letter, which I am not. I recently tested negative ( I know I could catch it any minute despite my herculean efforts to stay safe) and really would like to take some of the ladies again. Had the Commissary been flooded with guests in the past? Couldn't the person in charge of this decision reevaluate and begin allowing guests in that tested negative with proof. Hey, Hawaii is allowing negative-test people in w/o quarantine , maybe the Commisary can move...

As a service connected veteran I am able to shop at the commissary. The store is well laid out, the shelves are stocked, the fruit is nice. The only complaint is in the fruit and veggie section is not many fresh herbs.

I love that the aisles are nice and wide.

One day I lost my prescription Ray-Ban sunglasses while shopping; I didn’t realize it until I got in my car after an hour and a half shopping. I ended up retracing my steps and to my surprise and delight…there they were on the table where I stopped to get some coupons.

99.9% of clerks are kind and helpful, I like that young kids handle the bagging and taking out groceries on Sundays; it’s a good lesson in...
