Annie used to do my hair about 10 years ago back when I lived in Seattle and I recently visited her in her shop Annie Firefly last week to get my naturally curly hair cut, colored an ombre red/burgundy/plum, and Brazilian blowout and I am beyond impressed as are my friends, family and colleagues. I live in California but literally will now fly to Seattle to get my hair done by Annie every single time because she is that good and I do not want anybody else touching my hair at this point. I am quite particular because of my natural curly tresses and have had several poor and also mediocre experiences (especially with white people doing my hair) but Annie has never had any problems working with my hair texture or curls at all and actually is hands down the best hair stylist and colorist that I have ever had. I know she does all types of hair, all genders, all cuts and styles and I can not think of a color or style that she can not pull off. Because of my professional job, I was looking for something unique yet subtle and still professional and Annie nailed it like she always has before. She got exactly what I was going for and I have gotten so many compliments about my hair ever since she did it. My hair is still healthy and soft and she helped me pick out some products for home to help me maintain this new color that she had in the shop which also have worked very well for me and were actually very affordable given the fact that I bought a big bottle of sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner, leave-in-conditioner, and a curl moisturizer all for $100 that will last me quite a while.

The location is small and quaint although very clean and minimalistic with lots of plants and artwork. It is relaxing and comfortable and I am a big woman so this matters! The location is super easy to get to and she has ample parking in the front. She was on time to the appointment and was so thorough and made sure I was comfortable the entire time and continued to gauge my opinion throughout the process such as making sure we were on the same page in terms of color before she began including providing swatches and mixing colors and showing them to me on white cards and even made sure I liked the color on a smaller portion of my hair before completing my entire head. Her prices are more than fair given the extreme level of color mastery and skill that Annie has.

To top this all off, Annie is an extremely kind, upfront, honest, and hilarious person and I really enjoyed spending time with her in her salon as it felt just like catching up with an old friend. She is very loyal to her clients and she is flexible with timing as I was able to call a week early and move my appointment up an hour without any hesitation due to a change in my schedule.

There is a small room in the studio dedicated to massage as well that I didn't check out but plan on doing so next time as it looked very relaxing and I can't think of a better pamper day than a massage and a good wash/color/cut/blowout. Overall, I have already contacted Annie for my next appointment for a color re-touch and am excited to come back! Annie has been coloring my hair all the crazy shades of green I could ever have imagined. Seriously though, I love working with her because she listens very well to what I want and is up for mixing and testing colors until we find that perfect shade for this visit. That and we always have a good chat and a few chuckles- easy going, truly listens to what you, and I love the new location with her own salon space so it feels like I am hanging out with a friend, not processed through a series of stations sandwiched between other folks. Annie is the BEST! I won't let anyone else ever touch my hair. She styles the whole family, me, my 11 year old daughter and husband. We found Annie on a whim (my daughter really wanted a skrillex cut and I sure wasn't going to do it) and, years later, we've been going to her ever since. She really hears you when you describe what you want your hair to look like. I've never felt so heard by a stylist in my life. Not only is she is a a true artist, she's also incredibly charming and hilarious. Her new salon in Sandpoint is relaxing and super stylish....
