20 years living here and never got tired of these views. Infact, it just got better as I grew older and less wiser. .
This region is one of the corners of the "Red Triangle," where roughly 30% of recorded great white shark attacks on humans have occurred, in the U.S. The other two corners of this "no-love" triangle are Farallon Islands and the Big Sur region. The cold Nor-Cal waters have kept me ashore, and that may be a good thing given my luck.
It is easy to get to, and the views are phenomenal. That is all that can be said really.

Read moreYou must keep your children close as the trail follows the edge of the top of Bodega Head. Their are no guardrails and its a long way down to fall onto the rocks below. There are plenty of warning signs at the beginning of the trail. It is also steep & gravelly in areas. So you are prone to slide. Its about 4-5 mile hike plus trails go off to the left with no trail directions. Eventually you will come out at the upper parking lot and walk dkwn the road to the lower lot. Views are gorgeous. Read moreSuch a beautiful place for picnic with family, especially for people who love fishing. Around 1 to 2 hr from the bay, it is a perfect weekend getaway.
Bodega head is an open area with no entry or admission. There is enough parking space and we could see people parked at the side of the road, fishing and cooking their catch.
We walked down to a small backwater beach, and I wouldn't advise swimming in the water though. Overall its such an open space with lot of privacy. Do check out the yummy seafood restaurants...
