FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! DONT BRING YOUR OWN TUBES. These people who sell tubes and parking all want to just make money off of you ! You canât bring your own tubes or youâll literally be told you canât get off the river. DO NOT BUY FROM RIVER SPORTS TUBE ! or any of them I suggest another river near you thatâs has more helpful employees. I went with a group of friends and paid 15.00 for parking at a chevron and parked in their little area. THEY FAILED TO MENTION IF YOU DONT BUY TUBES OR PARKING FROM THE SHACKS AND DONT HAVE A WRISTBAND YOU WONT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE RIVER. which is dumb to just sell parking only in the first place and not mention that important detail ! as someone who is not from the area and first time being there NOBODY WAS HELPFUL AND EVERYONES ANSWER WAS I DONT KNOW. We asked every stop if we can just be escorted out and everyone said no we canât walk on their property unless we were customers and when we asked which stop can we get off at they said they donât know but that their bridge was the only bridge left until a long while. AT 3 STOPS AND CROSSING THE RIVER BACK AND FORTH EVERYONE SAID NO.I feel that itâs very inhuman not to let first time customers off even after explaining our situation and told them that we were just sold parking nobody told us we canât use our own tubes, and leave us in the river and give us I donât know answers. We could have continued going on the river and getting lost ! Or even ran into bad currents and possibly die. That river only gets colder and thicker along the way and it was nearly 3 hours we were on it and nobody was letting us out. It wasnât until the last stop we tried a man still didnât let us out at their stop but he was a little more helpful but yet the situation got even more dangerous . He told us the only way out of the river was crossing it again and climbing up a wall of rocks and to just walk the road until we get to our parking. That was totally unacceptable and wonât be going back there LET ME TELL YOU AS A PERSON OF COLOR , you can tell these people were not very nice and didnât want us on their property unless we paid them. They were very rude and not helpful AT ALL ....
Read moreWe went tubbing in our own tubes. Hundreds of people enjoying tubing on the horseshoe of the guadalupe river. The river is extremely cold so be prepared for that. With so many tourist and very little oversight the river is full of trash. Wear some sort of booties to protect you from the rocks. We floated in one big tube. The river in some areas is so shallow we could not pass like ankle deep. The rocks were very slick. In some other parts the river had very quick falls. I do not recommend it for small children. I was screaming like a banshee in one of those. We also saw a snake, not poisonous but who wants to see one while you are fighting the rapids. We had to pay $15 for parking at a chevron station. We walked to the upper part of the river and floated to the 1 exit. We had to paddle with our shoes because the current in the first part is extremely slow. I had heard it is 1 1/2 hours but it is about...
Read moreSuch a peaceful spot right on the Guadalupe River. Stayed at the River Ranch RV Park in New Braunfels with a perfect River few. The ducks and Egyptian Geese and the lone "misunderstood" goose were just delightful. The baby raccoon was sadly put down by authorities as he had signs of being rabid. I really enjoyed watching the New Braunfels and neighboring Fire Rescue boat teams practicing weekly on the river in speed raft boats. what AMAZING skills they have! Been a great relaxing month here among the natural surroundings and God's precious creatures...and especially visiting with my eldest son and daughter-in- law!! Will miss them terribly when I head out this week. on to visit friends in Louisiana. Y'all be blessed in...
