Truly Farm Freshness to Table My cousin, who lives just across the SC state line needs some canning tomatoes. I told here I live right down the road from a Fresh Market, and I’ll see if they have some. When I entered the market, it was very nice and full of fruits and vegetables. Being a city boy, not sure what exactly is a canning tomato? I asked the staff and unfortunately there was not out on the floor, but the owner came over and said they just picked some fresh this morning, and if I had a few minutes she would get the team to put a box together. I said great, I’ll look around, while waiting. There was a dark purple looking tomatoes that I didn’t know, so I asked the staff again, she explained it’s called Heirloom tomato, alittle sweeter then a other tomatoes, Katie the daughter of the owner, offered me a free one just to try. Amazing, a freebie! Then while waiting I got to try her ice cream, strawberry right from their farm, grown right there. Im an ice cream, lover, my main go to! This was the Best Ever, very creamy and bursting with flavor! I go back regularly just for the ice cream and the different featured flavors! Buzz words these days for restaurants is Farm to Table, but this market I got to tell you brings a whole new meaning to Farm Freshness to Table! We visited Heritage Fresh Market twice this week. We purchased local fresh strawberries, asparagus, and plants. Served asparagus and chocolate dipped strawberries to company tonight. Both were outstanding. So flavorful!

Made strawberry pies yesterday for a community gathering. Received MANY compliments. Was asked where we purchased the delicious berries. Each season, I make batches of strawberry jam with Heritage strawberries. Our friends and family look forward to it.

The huge pots of geraniums (in 3 colors) are grown right in the family’s greenhouse. Bought 4 pots. Lauren took the time to talk about their care and watering. Her husband, Jodie advised us on hanging plants on the porch. We ordered 3 to be picked up next week.

Also purchased cantaloupe. We buy it weekly. Very sweet. And, Katie’s homemade ice cream is a delicious treat.

The Clemmons Family is welcoming and helpful. Today I witnessed an elderly customer asking for help getting her flat of strawberries to her car. The strawberries were delivered with a smile.
