Drove a long ways to come back and get some of our favorite jerky that we miss since moving away and couldn't believe the interaction. We get there right at 9 when they open and ask the young guy if they have any jerky and he replies Eh, last I knew just some hot left
So I ask him When do you expect to have some more? Figuring it be later that day or next day and we would just come back since it was always being made quickly before. His reply?
Well, I can't exactly give you a exact date....
I just left because with the snarky brush off way he said it I didn't care to hear him anymore. If you are making jerky by date then you are either one of two things. A dying business and not selling enough meat to make it daily or even weekly like you use to. So what? Check back in August? Or... You didn't know who I was( I am just a nobody not talking like I am) and brushed me off to keep it for the locals because it always was a fight to get it before. And now smaller quantities being made i am betting the ol boys network is getting first dibs. That's cool, that is how Shelby has always worked.
And also explains why so many people shop at Meijer or park Ave Kroger from Shelby for meat through Instacart and Walmart through spark.
Won't be returning to our favorite jerky place anymore. I'll build a smoke house and smoke dry it before I ever head...
