Silver Lake Camp & Retreat Center — Local services in Sharon

I've had wonderful experiences at Silver Lake, but unfortunately, I see them headed down a path that is not in the light of Christ. They have gotten very political over the years. If you are looking for a Christian Camp I would not recommend Silver Lake. They are lukewarm. I love to go there every year the staff is so much fun and it will only take you one day until one of the staff members is your friend. And the lake is so much fun to swim in and the lifeguards are always alert in case someone is in danger. Also the beds are so comfy and your counselor is so nice and friendly. The bathrooms are very clean and big. The people there are super nice and welcoming it will only take one day for you to make a new friend. Somehow my 13 year old daughter's all-girl cabin needed to have a hand-written "gender neutral" sign attached to an otherwise unmarked bathroom door. And her counselor was a practicing Muslim. So there is some not-too-subtle indoctrination going on here. Other than that, Silver Lake is beautiful, my daughter had a blast and the political elements that annoyed me had little bearing on her experience.
