Old Highway 270 Mercantile — Local services in Shawnee

If I could rate this business lower than a one-star, I would. I am simply surprised our visit was so different, considering all of the positive reviews. The main sections of the store were stocked with really cool designs and antiques. Most items were priced and organized throughout the shop, though a little overpriced. However, items in the garage area were not labeled or priced; it was mostly a collection of rusty metal garage scraps. We found several things in this area of interest; unfortunately, this is when our visit got weird. Owner, Mark, tried to double the price of an item that was marked. Judy and my wife located the items and confirmed the marked price. Mark continued to refuse the written price and told us we were wrong. They then joked about how he overcharged members of his church on the same item the week earlier. He showed little concern about overcharging customers, which felt very uncomfortable. What finally ended our experience was when we offered a price that offended Mark. He took the other items out of my wife's hands and said, "These items are no longer for sale." I have never experienced this before; the situation was so awkward. I bought the remaining items we had picked out and left. I will not return. I do not or will not ever recommend this location. Can't believe we have never seen this place before! A little off the beaten path , but well worth the stop ! Lots of great items to choose from. Goodies inside and outside too!! Good quality store !! Take the time...

This place is a must visit! The people are incredible, the selection of antiques is amazing and the prices are awesome too. I drive from okc to visit and will certainly be making the drive again....
