Update: Seems to have gotten better recently. I guess the supply issue was resolved.
Do not buy meat from this location. I've witnessed countless times green meat being sold. 4/5 times that I've purchased meat in the last few months it has smelled horrendous. One package of meat as soon as I opened it hit me in the face with a blinding smell similar to bleach. I've contacted the company and they know about it. I've mentioned it to the employees and they already knew about it. It's not their fault, but the person stocking the meat knows what is going on yet they continue to put it out. If their is a supply issue or otherwise they should NOT be selling this meat and it should be rejected, not put out and sold to customers. If you want to get sick - go ahead. Until they fix it, shop elsewhere for meat. At this point I should get $100 in free groceries after the money I've wasted on spoiled meat. As I said I don't necessarily blame the employees - but I do highly question the person in the back handling the meat and putting it out in that condition. And the company (Food Lion) which knows about it but hasn't seemed to take it seriously thus far. With a situation like that it should have been made a major priority and they should have gone as far as to stop meat shipments if required...
Read moreMy experiences at Food Lion lately have not been as good as it used to be. I see that the store is under new management. I'm not convinced that this new management team is the right fit for the store and community. There does not seem to be as much customer care as the last team. I have shopped this store since it was built. I've seen the management change many times. Some were good, and some were not so good. I've noticed that during rush hours, the management will utilize two check out lanes when there are lines of people waiting for checkout. The last management team would open additional lanes to expedite the customer flow. I will continue to shop there because of the closeness of location. I just want to see better customer service care. There are a few employees who are exceptional in their customer service and knowledge of the products. I was there late this afternoon, and the two lanes were opened with 20 people waiting to be checked out. The cashiers were excellent and kind. I wish the management the very best as they get better.
Remember, there are some exceptional employees at Melrose Food Lion. If you have received excellent care, let the staff know that you appreciate...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I want to take a moment to recognize an act of kindness that truly touched my heart by Tom. My Goddaughter works here as a customer service leader, and like many young people, she and her family are going through some very hard times. Her mother recently lost her job, their car broke down, and in this area there is no public transportation to rely on.
Despite all of these challenges, she still shows up and works her shifts with dedication. On one of her night shifts, she was left without a way home. That could have been a very dangerous situation. But the night shift manager went above and beyond showing genuine humanity by making sure she got home safely. In a world where so many people are too busy to care about anyone but themselves, this manager showed compassion, understanding, and leadership that goes far beyond a job description. That small act of kindness made a huge difference in her life and in ours. This is the kind of character that deserves recognition from corporate. We need more leaders like this in the workplace people who don’t just manage, but truly care about the safety and well-being of their team. Thank you for reminding us that kindness...
