River Bend YMCA Golf Course — Local services in Shelby

Heard so much about the course, had to take the drive out. It's a easy drive from Charlotte and WELL worth it. Better conditions than any Charlotte public course i've played this year. They charge prices that are reasonable for people of all walks of life. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Golfers treat the course with respect, very few ball marks on the greens, and tee boxes are in amazing shape. I can't say enough good things about this course, not to mention i matched my career low round here today with a 77! I will return many times and bring my friends with me, please do yourself a favor and do the same. Take the extra 30 minute drive, save yourself $50 and enjoy a course that actually wants to...

This course made the top 10 honorable mention by Chris Beeman, aka the B-Man who rates CLT area courses every year. It's about 1.5 hours from my house in Fort Mill, SC but well worth it.

I retired a couple years ago and play golf 2 to 3 time a week all over NC & SC. Last year, I played 94 rounds of golf.

I would easily put this course in the top tier for public courses within a short drive of CLT.

The greens were great, especially #17, just an outstanding green design and well maintained.

Have always loved this course and we make the hour long trip to play here pretty often. Which is why today was so disappointing. We had this threescore of young guys behind us hitting to us multiple times even though we are waiting on groups ahead of us. They are also screaming non stop the whole time. While we are on number 9 they skip us and the group in front of us and joing another 3 some on #10. We notified the pro shop and they didn't do anything so we played an entire back 9 behind a group of 6 that was playing...
